The Ice amps need to be plugged to the wall outlet. Emotive said the same thing about there AMP's when i experianced clipping at higher volumes.
They had me hold the power button in for about 3 minutes with the unit unplugged, They said it drain's excessive energy or something to that effect. a few month's ago i was having exsessive noise coming from my plasma tv in my bedroom they had me do the same thing, and it worked. I guess i don't understand it but i am up and running so i don't care at the moment. LOL

Glad you have it up and running!
All though I have (had) my Pioneer Elite 92 hooked up to my Power Center, along with my XPA-3 and experienced no issues. I hope I don't have any trouble with the SC-07 and XPA-3 hooked up the same way. I only have one outlet near my gear, and really no way to plug them both directly into the wall. I could probably plug one directly into the wall, but I would need the other plug for my Power Center for all my other gear.
Anyway, I can't wait to here your impressions on your new toy!

TOOL, you are one MATRIX freak! I couldn't figure out which thread should I post...:p
It's all good, may wanna plug your elite back to your PC and just customized the setting to be ON/ active all the time. This should eliminate the unprotected connection from your wall. u got the PC, USE it....Otherwise make PIONEER ELITE be liable if there's a surge/ voltage spike incident...:cool:Godspeed,

OK i got another problem. When i use the Y connector for my SUB's i am getting a buzzing sound. is this normal? it would not seem like it to me.
-
Are you running multiple subs? Are the all the same kind? Are they plugged into the same outlet/line?"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

No, i have one in the back of the room, and one in front. the one in back i pluged into another outlet, and it stopped.
I did not have that problem with the Yamaha but it had to sub out's. not sure why that would make any differance. -

More important question might be were the AC outlets on the same circuit? Wonder if you have a ground loop type problem.Sony 60'' SXRD 1080p

Hi Tool.
Is the buzz coming from one or both of the subs?
If you have the Y splitter connected at one of the subs, try running the Y out of your reciever's sub out instaed.

I would like to know who said this. This is simply not true but true from a certain point of view.
Ice amps or not , any device plugged into a surge/ Conditioner needs to have the correct amount of voltage to work correctly. If you current limit your device , it will not perform correctly.
So Your or Pioneer's point is correct from this point of view. Now if you have a high end Surge/ Conditioner designed for High current devices like amp or high current receiver, you will have NO problems even at extended listening at Reference levels.
I use all Panamax Surge protector/ line conditioners. I personally own the M5500ex which is top of the line a few years back . I plug everything into it with no Current limitations and I have a Rotel RMB1095 pulling juice from it. No problems even with my hard to drive speakers at 4 ohm load and all in the 80's db. They tend to suck the life out of anything that doesn't have much to give. The power center delivers plenty of power to supply all my gear correctly and then some. This also includes a Rear Projection tv.
I do not think plugging your receiver directly into a outlet is a wise idea. Now it is unprotected and uncorrected. Your getting **** power.
Do yourself a favor and get a high quality Power center like a Panamax M5400 or 5500. This is what I would sell you to go with you high end receiver. Also do your homework on the Panamax line. You will see there is no reason to buy anything else.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
I've got a pair of Parasound HCA-1500 power amps plugged into the high-current outlets on my Panamax 5100EX and I don't have any problems with current limitations impacting the sound of the amps. I second the Panamax recommendation, and also recommend PS Audio's units.DKG999

The 07 will maintain its setting even if unplugged for a while so nothing wrong in trying. Worst case, it won't turn on. I suggest Panamax or Monster, check A'gon as you can buy these for good prices.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!
