I got a brand new Paradigm cc-390v6 center today for only 399. Its a monster. But after going back and fourth between it and my Polk Csi5, I think I like the Polk better. Maybe Im nuts but to me It seems like it has too much mid range in it. Of course it has 7 drivers in it and is a 3 way compared to my polk which is only 3 drivers and is 2 way. Am I nuts? Is it a sound you have to get used too? I have 7 days to return it if I dont like. Have any of you heard it or think Paradigm has alot of mids. To me the Polks I have sound more crisp. Thoughts anyone? Can someone give me reasons the paradigm is better than the polk other than you dont like polks?

Brand new speakers out of the box don't sound right, they need to break in and then they open up. The cc-390 is not a good match for the rest of your system is another reason why you probably like the polk center better.

You have to have the front 3 speakers to match , then you can judge it correctly.

Agreed, it doesnt match up with anything in your setup. Are you thinking of going Paradigm? The studio 100 v2 looks nice.

I was thining about going paradigm after listening to the monitor 11's then I saw this deal on the center so I thought I would give it a try. I know it dont match my towers or anything in my system thats probably why I dont like it. But it does to me have too much mid range. So after thinking about it, Im going to return it. Then either get the new rtiA speakers in cherry or whatever the wood grain is called or step up to the Lsi sereis in woodgrain.

Again I believe your basing your opinion on a center channel demo without the other front 3. If you had matching front 3 I bet you would have a differnt opinion.

I have the RTIA5's in Cherry and they are bueatiful. They also sound amazing once the burn in is done.
