    I miss Demi:(
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

I don't miss anyone in particular. I do miss enjoying the forum. Now it's all pies, spam, emus, spam, numbers polls, spam, "last amp" threads, spam, muffins.....

Boring. Lost that "at home" feeling.

How was it in the good old days (if you mind putting it this way)? What was different that made Polk's forum more home?

    Cheers :)

To me, the Polk forum ebbs and flows. Right now, all of the above is what's "in". Just like things such as "waaaaaaaaaaah" were in, but now are just used ad nauseum. I just stick around for the speakers. Forum members come and go, but the good quality budget sound remains. We're not here to talk about Emotiva or pies, we're here to talk about Polk. Long live the true Polk Audio fans.

    hit+nail = on head

people's interests change with the tide, and so do their attitudes I guess. I still see most of the people i like here, so I;m cool. i haven't bought new gear in a dog's age. My Lsi's in the theater will evaporate before i go with another speaker set, so i guess I'm gonna be a polkie for a looooong time.

I started playing the Bass last year, so thats ben eating alot of my discretionary electronics funds. amps, cabs, basses. trying to get a ban together. blah blah

I still poke around here though. I like too many of you guys, though if some others found no more joy here, then i wish them luck and hope they return.

    just my late night .02

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!!! It took me back to read this thread tonight I wasn't expecting all the kind words. There are so many good people here that's why many of us come back or stick around. Even when the conversation is boring, it's the good people that make the Polk Forum what it is.

My new job, well it's more visibilty, responsibility and headaches. I love what I do and I have fun doing it. Thanks again!!

Congrats on your new position Carl...life is all about attitude...and you have one of the best.

I know for some of us locals here.........we have our own "social group" just to shoot some ****. Plus about 6-8 of us locally meet quite a lot. That takes a little bit out of the main forum for me.

But as Noah stated "ebbs and flows". I have access all day so I tend to post out of convenience, if I didn't have all day access I'd probably be MIA at times. It would be nice to actually discuss things about audio that have a little depth rather than all the noobs asking the same questions over and over. I understand they need to learn and want advice...........but it's all here and been answered before.

Even the likes of Johnk, William M2 and a few other anti-hifi insurgents are posting less and less. Atleast they feel they add balance to some of the discussions.

You know the way down Big, and the door is always open. Horse radish is on me again.

I think I see a natural occurrence with the forum. It stays young. I'll bet the median age here changes very little. Video games seem to be a big thing now here. Maybe it's me.

Zappa noticed the same progression. Throughout his career, he noticed that the audience was always the same demographic. The older fans moved on and didn't attend the shows as much. Young, 20-30 year old males always made up the bulk of the audience.

Hey hey hey now! Whoa there! Whatever you and big Lou do with horseradish is your business and we don't need to hear about it on the forums!

But I gotta ask, doesn't the horseradish burn the jibbly bits?

Last time Big Lou was down here he made himself a sandwich and slathered it HEAVILY with what I guess he thought was mayo or mustard. It wasn't. Two seconds into his first bite his eyeballs launched over to my side of the table. My wife, the former Theresa Talamonti, and my daughter Stephie got a big kick out of it. I'm just sorry that Tiff was inside laying down and missed it. You had to be there. Actually, since Jstas and Randy were some of the last to leave that day, they were there when it happened, just in another room.

Antny, I'm good thanks. Drop by man, the weather's getting okay. I'm gonna have a Primo's franchise in my kitchen someday I hope. I'm happy for your work lunch program!

The one over by me? If they see me parking my car now, it's entirely possible for me to have "the usual" waiting for me by the time I get to the counter.

I miss the good old days when I first joined up. It was only about 10 of us and we didnt know crap about car audio and every time we discovered the least little thing it would just make our day and we'd have to post about it that day and talk about it from every angle. Just a bunch of half assed newbies learning it all together.

Now the car audio side has dwindled down to pretty much just me answering technical questions on how to install a crossover or how to wire a sub to 2 ohms for a bunch of guys that post once then disappear.

Not that I mind, its just that it doesnt feel like family like it used to.

Sucks that things have to change.

I was wondering what happened to that guy. He damn near caused a cyber riot here last summer. I tuned out for a few months beginning in September-- busy with work -- and then when I started checking out the forum on a more regular basis in January, I noticed....poof -- he and all of his daily tracking polls were gone.

    Hey gang!!

I haven't forgot about anybody...least of all my PF bretheren. Things here are nuts...we've got a MAJCOM inspection coming up plus, I rotate back 1 May so I'm going 100mph in ten directions.....plus, for whatever reason, I can't get on the forum at home. Stupid LG Dacom won't let me connect to the forum and here at work, i just haven't got the time.

Don't despair, though, still love everyone here and will be back SOON.

45 days and I'm back in the USA!!
