2 reliable resources has informed me that the ELITES are out of the industry. Their audio was sold to Panasonic while their video was sold to Sharp or viceversa. Possible reason why the market $ took a plunge. 2010 is supposed to be the Dday.:eek::eek:
Please advice me otherwise.

Shite!!! That explains why BB has the Elite rcvr.'s on sale for $800 OFF msrp.
The SC-05= $1K, and the SC-07 for $1400. I MAY be taking a road trip to Charleston, since that's the closest Magnolia!

Could you post where you got this information from?
Two reliable resources doesn't really tell us anything.

Even if this is the case, i'll still be picking up the SC-07 when i have the chance.

With regard to Pioneer Elite TVs, ConsumerReports states :

    "Pioneer

    Sells plasma TVs.
Plasma stalwart Pioneer has consistently targeted consumers willing to pay more for a "prestige" label, particularly with its higher-priced Elite series. The company offers a line of performance-oriented Kuro plasmas, which are typically priced much higher than its competition. The company recently announced that it would no longer make its own plasma panels but would instead source them from Panasonic (though it will continue to apply its other proprietary technologies to the TVs). In addition, a recent investment in the company by Sharp could result in the first Pioneer-branded LCDs."

    Center: polk CSi3
    Rear Surrounds: polk R20
    Subwoofer: polk PSW404

Lucky Guy, the people at my local BB's Magnolia store suck, they never budge on anything. I highly doubt i'd be lucky enough to get that offer.

They appear to not like to negotiate at my BB's Magnolia store. Being a dick head isn't going to get me anywhere either...lol :p

They already don't like me for the many price matches i made them do on my Samsung 650 last year.
I had to argue (and be a dick head) with them on each and everyone, for some reason they have trouble honoring their own policies.

Pioneer's (from what I heard) getting out of TVs all together, not just the Elite line. There's also a good chance they're getting out of all Home Theater and only focusing on car audio which is a dying breed if you ask me but ok!
Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

    Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.

I have not heard of this news and we get Pioneer Elite news fast. If that is true , it's yet another sad day. 2008 was horrible and now 2009 is getting worse.

Well Mantis, you're not alone in the NOT knowing dept. with regards to Elite.
I just got back from Charleston, and p/u the SC-05, and the Magnolia sales rep. said that he only had 1 SC-07 and sold that couple of weeks ago, and hasn't been able to get another one to replace it??? He said BB's system isn't showing it as discontinued/ clearance?
    The mystery continues?

BTW, any polkies down by Charleston, they got 1 SC-05 left, after that, you're down to the VSX-03, & 01

    doggie,

What color are they going with now??;)

This was known early last month. It's not all the Elites as far as I know, they are to continue the AVR and BD part of business. Have any links to your resources?

They have 3 new BD players coming out this April, one of them is an Elite model.

I just got all the wiring done, and it's turned on. As soon as I figure out the owners manual, maybe I can come back with an opinion?
This damn book looks like the launch manual for the SHUTTLE!!!

Edit: That was easy!:p All I did was turn on the dvdp, and SOMEHOW, this thing sensed what it was supposed to do.:D

I just want to make sure I didn't bring home 'HAL2000'
