I do believe good sir that the likelyhood of such a thing existing in that price range is utter nonsense, unless you seek the "white van" variety:eek:...
I wish you luck with your search as you will need it:)

Yeah man, $110 isn't going to get you much unless you're very lucky.

110 dollars will easily get you a pair of Polk Monitor 7's. You might have to shop around for a while to find a good deal on a pair, but it will be well worth the wait. They're excellent sounding speakers.

They aren't of British origin though.

I second this! :D The Monitor 7's are a great speaker and can definetly be found under $110. I got my 7c's with original stands in great condition for $100 off craiglist.
    AVR - Yamaha Aventage RX-A800
    Amps - B&K Components ST2140 (for mains) and Parasound HCA-1000A (bi-amping center)
    Mains - RT1000i Towers
    Center - CS400i
    Sub - BIC Acoustech PL200

My neighbors listen to very good music, whether they like it or not

Just a FYI, but Grey Poupon is actually French, not British (old mustard company from Dijon, now owned and manufactured for the U.S. by Kraft ... has not been sold in France for a long time, where Amora & Maille are the leading brands, and owned by the same company for the past few years).

Yes, you can find excellent used Polk speakers in that price range with a bit of patience, and no, as stated previously, they are no more British than Grey Poupon.

Have you tried PM'n George Grand? He's got more used audio gear than used audio stores.

He's still recovering from an incident earlier on so it may be a while for him to get back to you but I have no doubt in my mind that he's got something right up your alley.

Lasareath has a set of SDA's that he might let go for $100, although they aren't British.

I'll take them.:p I don't care if they're British or not. I'd even be willing to go as high as 150.;)

    Starkiller (Alan),

I have a very small pair of KEF C-10 and an even smaller pair of Pinnacle PN-5. The KEF's have a 6" acoustic suspension woofer, and the Pinnacle have a 5 1/4" ported woofer. I do not know the power handling capabilities of either speaker. I would take SOME of the advice you are getting, but obviously not all of it (see above). Man, you live in used speaker/electronics central. Seattle is one happening place used equipment-wise. I suggest you try and find what you need locally. With a little patience I think you can find a real good deal without incurring shipping charges. If I were to box these up and ship, either pair would be about half what you're looking to spend, minus the shipping. I don't like to box and ship speakers, but will make an exception in your case just to quiet down the naysayers

Audio Advisor has several bookshelves on closeout. These are a little over your budget, and not British, looks like a good deal though.

george...thanks for the input and insight. yes, we here in seattle do seem to have a rather lively used audio scene. everyday on craigslist there are a number of rather good deals to be had, not what i am after but good deals. i checked the denver c/l as i have to fly out and see my dad as he isnt doing well and they really didnt have much at all.

william...thanks for the link! i just may have to take advantage of it if i dont find something here.

to all, thanks for all the input and ideas. i know that i am somewhat limiting myself when i prefer the "british" sound buts that what i like and have in all my systems here at home. kef/castle and mission. :D
