I just purchased the Polk Micropro 1000 sub to replace my Polk PSW12 which I moved to another room. When using the Yamaha receiver's YPAO setup tool with the PSW12, YPAO said it was 6.5 ft. from he listeneing position which is correct. With the Micropro 1000, YPAO said the distance was 29.5 ft.

Has anyone with the Micropro 1000 used Yamaha receivers with YPAO? I went ahead and set up all parameters manualy. Any help would be appreciated.

Jim

    Hello Jim,
I checked with the engineering department and they believe the false distance measurement, given by the Yamaha, is caused by the Micro Pro's room optimization circuitry. In effect the test signal, produced by the Yamaha, is being very slightly delayed by the sub-woofer. The Yamaha's calibration system is interpreting this as the sub-woofer is 30' away. You did the correct thing by manually setting the sub-woofer's distance.
