I was listening to some music tonight and noticed there is a noise that sounds like a bird is inside the speaker. This happens only when there are songs with a lot of bass that are played and is more prominent when the low notes are constant vs. just punchy bass. Is this port noise or is one of the drivers bad? These speakers are less than two months old and are powered by 70 wpc of H/k power. Any help is appreciated and I will be contacting Polk tomorrow afternoon. I am just curious to see if some of you can help out before tomorrow because it is driving me nuts.

Hello,
I believe you sent us an email message concerning this, correct? If so, i have replied this morning.

Ken,
I tried switching out the drivers like you said and no luck there. The problem must be the port. If I pull the port out as far as the donut will let me, the problem goes away. It must be a problem with the port I assume. Is there a remedy for this problem other than to ship the cabinet back?
Thanks for your help over the phone today

So I tried having a new cabinet shipped and there is a 1" dent in the corner of the speaker cabinet. There are very minimal marks on the shipping box. It appears to me that the cabinet was packaged incorrectly. I also asked for new screws because they were rusted and the wrong screws were sent. You will be getting a phone call in the morning from an unhappy customer. I was also told that I would only have to replace the drivers and feet. There is no polk label plate on the front and from every post on here that I have read, they are nearly impossible to get off the old cabinet without breaking.Ryan Jozwiak
