Welcome to the Forum Mike!
I am in Monroeville not far from you. If I were in the market for SDA's these would be mine. However, I have three sets and I have run out of room:D I'm sorry that you need the cash and must liquidate some items. Keep the speakers, sell the Jolida. The SDA's are one of the best values in hifi and the people here on the Forum are very helpful to ask questions and exchange information. Good luck with your sale, and welcome to the Forum.Carl -
Hi, Carl. Good to know there are locals on here. I have pretty much decided to keep the Polks. Someone is coming over this afternoon to look at the Jolida. And now I have two people interested in the Polks, but I lowered the price to $550.00 and I am going to stand firm on that.
If the Jolida does not sale, I have a pair of Snell type C/V that I might sale, they should be worth about $800.00 if I list them on Agon. I hate to have sale off these things, my collection is getting to small now.
Regards,
Mike -
Hi Mike and welcome to the forum. I may have a buyer for your Jolida, it's Jerry over at the CF. You do still have it, correct? If so, he's interested in the general condition, issues, does it come with the remote.......you know, the normal buyers questions.
He can PP you the $$$.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
I paid $100.00 for mine from Denver Craigslist. Had to replace a broken binding post and one of the speaks has some damaged laminate, but they sound like $2000.00 ;-) Spent another 200.00 on the RDO upgrades. I will most likely replace the top and bottom caps at some point with something more exotic.
They are REALLY heavy so get a friend or hand truck to assist.
Good luck and welcome.My journey: http://www.1414audio.com/ -

you are making the right call in keeping your Polks! There is not a speaker on the planet that sounds as sweet as these do for the money. I looked at 2k speakers and they just did not compare to my 1c's. I picker them up for 200.00 including gas on a 500 mile round trip, spent 300 so far in refurbishment and upgrades. Never have I been happier with my music than I have been since these beauties came into my home:)The Gear...
