Sorry about missing your own thread Joe ... it could have been an interesting discussion, but I would expect it got reported, and ... to tell the truth, I'm not in the least bit surprised, since there was quite a bit of bashing going on. I wonder why it didn't just get locked though ... I didn't read anything especially shocking.

Does it really matter? Open up a newspaper or watch the news......hell, maybe even find all that information on that thing called the internet. Those threads never go anywhere but downhill because Polkies simply cannot control themselves.

No, but it was an informative and respectful discussion among Polkies. No harm, no foul from anybody and no names were mentioned throughout.

Still, it was a discussion worthy of a discussion. A valid one at that. ;)

I don't remember much about it, except that bobman1235 doesn't have any money, or he's not getting any (of what, I don't recall), or something like that ... Somebody was very upset too, maybe they're not getting any either ...

Noel, I know what you post as I seen it in my email. But how long did it last after that? Seems nothing was post before that, well at least I didn't think it was going to poof.

People shouldn't go looking for, or second guessing things they said. Sometimes they get shut down for the potential they have, not what has already transpired. Justifiably so in my opinion. No politics, no guns, no religion, just a touch of sex, no smoking, no shoes, no shirt, no freakin' service, no phonies, no fatties, no ****.

I found nothing offensive of that thread. In fact, I hadn't heard of the site before, and was interested to see what was going on in my state. No projects planned in my area, unfortunately.

Why don't you girls, that need CP to keep you abreast of current issues, form a supergroup of private emailers....that would be awesome and ultra-exclusive. You can have mascots, handshakes...the ideas are limitless.

Another idea...join a political forum of your choice. I'm a big fan of them and post often. That way, I feel like actually commenting on audio when I arrive here...or not.

Out of the box thinking....it's cool.

C'mon doro. I bet even you can see the merit of discussing politics among friends, and not total strangers on some "no holds barred" political forum. Even though we come together through a common thread of audiophilium, sometimes it's nice to deviate from that point, hence the clubhouse. I saw nothing wrong with the previous thread as it was. Yes, political discussions can get out of hand, but that one hadn't, from the last post that I saw.

But there again, this is not a public forum. This is privately owned by Polk Audio, and they can do whatever they want to the posts here. At least they're censoring the posts on political discussions, and not their speakers. I've never seen a negative comment about their speakers censored out. Nay, It's usually addressed by some employee of the company.

Maybe we should handle the whole cables thingy like politics too: everyone gets to vote for the best cables and whether or not they make a difference. Once the votes are counted, then the decision has been made, and that's what everyone here has to use for the next four years, like it or not.

I discuss politics incessantly with friends offline and have no problem disassociating myself from any type of discussion here. It's not allowed and barely tolerated so swallow the goldfish and post elsewhere. It's not that hard to do. The rage against whatever is best directed to your representatives, local government, senators, etc. You can contact all of them directly....if you get that wrapped around the axle but NO, most ppl just vent on forums and do nothing outside. Oh well, it's your world baby.

Always. Each and every time in the entire history of Club Polk. At least as long as I've been here, and if you want to go back further than that, you'll only have to talk to one or two other guys here.

Have things deteriorated that far? One of the first things taught, that was an unwritten rule of life was to never discuss sex, religion, or politics. At least it was 30 or 40 years ago, and it still seems to make a great deal of sense.
