STAY away from this merchant www.4starelectronics.com, they will mislead you and F..uck u up. Ordered a chip to fix my TV and the guy over the phone claimed it's 25pcs for $12. Heck, that's a steal so I purchased it online and got the item. Later the bill came and it's $310.05 ($12 each + shipping)..WTF.......I tried resolving the issue with the merchant but denied, disputed the charge through my credit card with email transactions with the merchant proving I was mislead, DENIED due to the merchant's TERM and conditions....NCNR(No Credit No Refund). I am going to Business Bureau to claim my complaint.:mad::mad:

If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Kind of sounds like you knew the price wasn't right from the get-go.

I'm a little surprised your credit card didn't help you out more though, and sorry you got screwed.

I would not let this drop with your CC company. Move up the ladder to a supervisor if you have to.

Wait...you didn't get a final amount on your internet credit card transaction? You should always see it, I doubt you gave them an order with blank $$$ amount authorization.

If your cc company won't help you out on this one (assuming the scenario is as presented), change cc companies.

Did you include this fax of your order with your original CC dispute? That is the amount you authorized, not $300+, and they modified the amount without your knowledge.

I am dealing with a CC dispute myself at the moment - my first ever. It is a painful task which takes time. I think that careful wording of the dispute, which makes the important points clear, might help in your case. IMO, you are not disputing the terms and conditions of the seller in this case, you are disputing the amount you authorized him to charge you for the order to begin with, but I'm just guessing from the situation you described. Keep your cool on the phone with the CC company, but make your points clear without burying them with details that aren't necessarily completely relevant.

I hope it works out (it sounds like it should). I will also make a post about my own dispute when I know how it turns out. I will also be considering other cards at some point, that may have a more customer friendly dispute resolution procedure when dealing with dishonest merchants, but I'm not sure if such a card exists.

Why did you order 25 pieces of an item you only needed 1 of to fix your tv ?

I could see maybe 2 or 3 if it is a part that fails often on an older electronics piece, but if the guy on the phone didnt say these were limited and almost out of stock never to be seen again I dont understand the huge number purchase ?

Did he tell you what the single part purchase price was , or did he just mention they carry those in bulk groups of 25 for 12 bucks ?

Kinda like me needing a replacement volume knob for an AVR...if the vendor said they were 12 bucks a piece or say 20 bucks for a pack of 25...I still would only order the single piece.

Now if it was a particular cap or mosfet that failed on a regular basis, but I still loved the unit for its performance....then sure I would buy the much cheaper bulk amount.

Did you do this in time, BTW, notifying them that your order was not as stated on your fax? If not, it might be a good idea to do so now, if it has been less than five days. Just a thought.

All of the above was done, may be I gave them too much supporting documents.

AMERICANEXPRESS......is good for dishonest merchants, they will back you up all the way.

Why did you order 25 pieces of an item you only needed 1 of to fix your tv ?

Buy and sell.......to upgrade my amp:D

NOT applicable.....he mentioned when I tried disputing it. It was in stock/ inventory.

Did he tell you what the single part purchase price was , or did he just mention they carry those in bulk groups of 25 for 12 bucks ?

    As you said...25pcs for $12

I know but was hoping that I could sell and make some $$$...business minded

    25pcs for $12.

    Under FAQ section:

    What is your minimum order?
Our minimum order for in-stock items is $100.00usd and non-stocked items is $300.00usd.

How were you going to get $12.00 worth of stuff when $100.00 is the minimum order?

The credit card order form is pretty strange, no place for a total or what taxes they're charging.

    Quantity : 25
    Part # : xxxxxx
    MFG: xxxxx
    D/C : ??
    N/R/P: ??
    Cost(each): 0.48c

Unless you wrote .48 cents in the cost/unit field, you might be screwed.

The form is incomplete and confusing. I've heard in electronic world, the ea(EACH) doesn't exist. Both parties knew there was a communication, the form filled was a sign, but other merchant like this one love to take advantage to their customer who made the mistake. WTF, so much for customer service. Cmon, give me a break the item was untouched and I was willing to pay the shipping back to them....WTF.

Checking the FAQ is not part of the T & C anyway, so I don't think they can hide behind that (but I'm no legal authority).

Your fax is what you authorized them to charge to your card. That is the most important item IMO.

Are you still waiting for the CC response? I would keep documenting times and dates of calls to everyone related to this dispute, and the person you spoke to. Try to document those you did not write down already as best you can. Some of these internet companies are really sly operations, but you should be able to convince the CC that your claim is justified from what you have described IMO. If all else fails, you can still write a decent response to the CC at some point, describing how their implied garanties and customer support have fallen far short of your expectations. You might even get a half decent reply at that point from someone more senior, but you shouldn't have to go that far ...
