I'm not sure if RYO is the way to go. I work for a cigar/pipe shop on Sundays in Virginia, and we were given these as estimated MINIMUM price increases (from our distributors)that will go into effect April 1, 2009:

Same info posted above. I still think RYO is the way to go, even after the hikes. It will be about $2.60 a pack, and here in Michigan, a pack is about $5.50, soon to rise to over $6.50.

I managed to find 51 1lb bags between all the local shops and online, so there won't be any increase to my $1 a pack for at least two more years. Also grabbed 75 boxes of tubes, since they will be going up .50 a box as well. I will save over $1300 in taxes over the next two years. The amount I will save ove premade cigs is over $5900!! Tobacco is better too.

In order to live together in a free society, people need to be tolerant of one another. You start being intolerant, then here come the laws. Our society today is all about ME-ME-ME, and screw everybody else. I don't like this, I don't like that. Everything should be perfect for me. Why should I have tolerate anything i don't like? Frickin self-centered, sanctamonious ****, period.

We get our cigarettes from an Indian reservation, but I'm sure my government will find a way to shut that gap as well---you know, cause they know what's best for me.

What kinda tobacco do you buy?

McClintock light. It was better when it still came in 13oz. cans, but they switched to bags about a year ago.

I also bought some Zen tobacco to try out, goofy flavored stuff, 5 vanilla, 1 blueberry, and 2 cherry. I have always wanted to try it, and I figure it will be too expensive to risk after the hike. I already tried some vanilla, damn good, but I doubt you could use it as a regular smoke, just an occasional treat. Glad I got 5 bags of vanilla, it's sold out everywhere.

Troops are home? Funny, my girl friends father just got shipped back out to Afghanistan after being home for six months from spending six months in Iraq.
