Each with there own attributes and deficiencies unfortunately. Just like our rigs........~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

I've seen that list before...it's crazy how much some people will spend in their pursuit of audio perfection.
Some awesome looking speakers there though. I'll never own any of them...lol
Just like treitz said, all of those speakers have their own drawbacks. Some of the people on this board with rigs closer to the 10,000 dollar range probably have better sound than some of the owners of those speakers.
Those are for the people with way to much money, trying to impress their friends 9 times out of 10...lol Not to say that they don't sound good...but this hobby isn't necessarily about the size of your bank account all the time. The nirvana inducer-

A well researched DIY speaker design with 6K-8K worth of kick **** drivers and 6K for the active crossover networks using DEQX will be just good as any from that list.
Of coz, the labor cost another 80-90K to assemble one.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -
No matter the price, these particular speakers look like a set of PA speakers that hang over center ice at a Boston Bruins game:
It would be quite a treat to here some of the upper-upper-end speakers to see what the effects of throwing mega-bucks at a problem are.Sal Palooza -
these ones are just so tall and only $100,000

Those ones are crazy! 34 tweeters, and 18 mid-woofers in each cabinet. Now that's what I call a line array...lolThe nirvana inducer-

My question is... does it take that to reply music?Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
Wonder why I don't see my speakers on that list?

The Pipedreams sound really good. Really good. Best line arrays I've ever heard.

yea, like Leroyjr1 said, why are my LSi15s on the list. They were the most expensive speakers I could afford.
Some of those are very cool looking but some are just plain butt ugly. When I saw these things it made me think of Wall E.

And I thought going on Audiogon and seeing 10,000 dollar speakers was ridiculous. I guess these are meant for overly ridiculous movie theatres or some Basketball player's house to play his XBox with

You are paying for just the look or the sound. Some of them are weird looking speaker and not the typical design. some are not for home audio, while other could be for home, but over kill too for home audio usage. Now factor in the amp and equipment to power them up...just too much to get good sound.

While they won't match the behemoths on that list in sheer impact and output capabilities, they would likey equal or exceed many of them in the areas of accuracy and musically.Testing
