Hopefully, a third won't.

1)The mid on my Monitor 7s just stopped. It is the non-fused model. I have a replacement from an old set of 5s. Interchangeable?

2)I decided to use an old dvd player to play cds through my 5.1 processor. I cannot get sound from the audio optical but I do out of the analogs. Maybe I am forgetting something, but I am certain you can run CD through the optical audio. Oh, there is an amp connected to the processor.

Thanks for help on either.

Mike, check the menus. There is often an option in 'Audio' menu on the DVD player to change sound output from 'analog' to 'digital' or to optical, or something similar.

My processor is a B&K 20. It has designated optical inputs and they have not been reassigned. SO, I am still at a mystery that the optical connection between the dvd player and the processor does not seem to carry audio while the analog does.

Any other thoughts? I am certain the cable is good.
