RTiA1 one speaker weak bass

Hi folks,

Last week I received my new RTiA1 speakers new in box.
I plugged them into Trends T-AMP 10.1 and every thing worked.

ALAS:eek:, I noticed that one speaker has relatively low & unsatisfying bass, unlike the other speaker. I'm not an audiophile or very good with my ears, but I noticed it quiet fast.

To check what is the problem source, I checked them one by one:
1. Placed them in the same place in the room.
2. Jacked them into the same channel in the Amplifier.
3. I rechecked the jumper plates and tigtened them again.
4. Used the same cable.
5. Just in case - I configured the output from my computer to be only one channel (nevermind which).

The results were the same. One speaker has far better bass - rich, warm and deep. Nothing that sound too much, but rather as the exact bass it should have.
The other one's bass just seemed partially dead.

I'll be glad to some suggestions.

Thanks,
Eden.

Dunno if I can be much help but.......
There has been chatter around about speakers getting yerked loose in shipping.
MAYBE something has come loose or not connecting completely in the one speaker?

    Just a thought!

i'm not familiar with those speakers. but do they have dual binding posts on the back? if they do.. check to see if the metal jumpers are tight.

other than that, call Polk customer service and they will be glad to help you out with the problem.

Hi, yes they have and yes - they are tightened.

I emailed them, they replied pretty quickly.

    Thanks,
    Eden.

Pretty easy check - unscrew the main woofer and check wire connections from the crossover to the tweeter and the woofer. If those are tight, then check if any parts broke off the crossover during shipping or if the solder joint got cracked. Stuff happens.
