CS150 Question

My 1994 CS150 started crackling and the MW4082 on the right is the problem. But, I found that the matching speaker on the left is a blank. From the specs it looks like it should be a MW4800 but its a dummy. I bought this new. What's the deal? Anyone know?

The MW4800 is a passive radiator. Let me see if my old CS200 is still around and if I have a good driver. If so, I will send it to you. I will know later today. And, if it's not the exact driver it should be close enough.

Very nice gesture Dave, that's one of the things I've come to love about this place.

Saw, not sure how many email accounts you have but you may not wish to post your email address out in the public. Your best bet would be to use the Private Message feature of the forum. Maybe a mod could delete that for you if you wish.

    BTW welcome to CP

Dave, Does a passive radiator look like a speaker without the magnet? If so, then that is what I have. It looks exactly like the MW4802 without the magnet assembly.

Yes, they look pretty much the same, but without a magnet. Their use is to "reinforce" the lower frequencies.

Sorry, but I don't have the CS200 any more. My mother-in-law toasted it and I ended up throwing it out. You can score a great deal on Polk center channels from their e-bay store...you will appreciate the upgrade.
