It's 20 minutes to 8 and there are 3 people including me on my floor out of 137 people who are normally here.

Stupid snow.

What's worse is having to come in early (like get up at 3:30 AM to catch a 4:30 train early) to make changes, making said changes and then being told by a freaking out manager that the change has to come out because he didn't properly inform senior management. Yeah, I love getting no sleep and wasting my time.

At least if no one else shows up and everybody is working from home, I can surf the net all day watching WRC video on YouTube, take a long lunch and leave early.

That was good but it was only 1.5 minutes. What am I going to do for the next 388.5 minutes?

We got 4 inches here in Raleigh and most people think we had a blizzard.

There was about 11 inches on the ground when I walked out the front door at 4:20 this morning and it's since started snowing again and has been for the past 3 hours. My friend lives closer to the Jersey Shore and he said they had at least 15 inches on the ground and they were expecting close to 2 feet before it's done.

like that here (Andover, MA) too.
Not really that much snow, but visibility was lousy driving in (I have a middling long commute); wipers kept icing up. I hate it when that happens.

I got the day off. So I got a mad workout in this morning and I'm gonna finish off the workout with a mind blowing snow shoveling of the driveway and all walkways.

I woke up with mad energy so I'm gonna put it to good use.

I love the cold and the snow, I hate Texas. It's going to be 85 here in a day or two, that sucks.

    I have a snow blower.

It has a beer holder on it.

Takes 20 minutes to do a 4 car driveway.

Then I go back inside where the easy chair is warm and the beer is cold.

I stay inside as the snow plow guy comes early when it snows and its done before I leave for work.

Can't say I miss shovelling snow

for once I woke up to no snow here.. but sounds like other parts are getting hammered with the white stuff.

I am working early morning shift myself 4 the next 2 weeks. up at 3am, in to work by 4am, get home around 2:30Pm.. it's really tough to try and fall asleep at 8pm the night before. so my a$$ is dragging today.

That is great....once in a while...when you get a full year and a half of it you want to kill every living thing within 50 feet of you. When our fabrication plant was moving to Oregon, for a solid year and a half we ...as a team...had usually 1 tool to decommission each night for a 12 hour shift from 7pm to 730am. Each tool took maybe 1 to 2 hours to complete...but some 10 minutes and others maybe a maximum of 4 if there was a lot of bullshitting.

There was only one requirement...for safety no sleeping allowed....no hot female operators to pass the time with anymore...just around 30 or so type A personality tech's surfing the web for an average of around 45 or 50 bucks an hour. There was no streaming video at that time...so I brought in a receiver and speakers and using my laptop as a source for the dvd's had a working theatre going...the boss loved it...just said to keep the stuff put away until the office suits left. Even that got old though....

Have a kick **** lunch and enjoy your slow day :D
