    I believe SDA technology requires either SDA interconnect (special made for SDA speakers) or the common grounded amplifiers which has the ground tied together.

    In case of Dual Mono amps designs, many have no common ground. So, you can use SDA interconnects between the SDA speakers and use the mono amps to achieve the SDA effects.

    Yes, Onkyo M-504 is a very nice amp and one of the nicest amps Onkyo made to date.
    Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone. :redface::biggrin:

    well thanks Mega. The M-504....as far as i think IS the best amp Onkyo ever produced....the interconnect cable for the 1C.....is NOT the best thing on the planet...and something that needs to be rebuilt.

    The total power of the M-504....is really the best i have ever heard for a SS amp. They still go for more then $400 on ebay. Which to tell you the truth is a buy...LOL

    The sound of this amp..is better then the Carver mega amps....but this is all subjective to everybody........

    What i would like or have tried to reproduce in my dad's set up.

    He had a set of Bozak speakers made for him.(1971)....2 x 12 with 2 tweeters slung in the middle of each speaker, steel lines on each speaker holding that and a 5"...i think ..mid.

    The panels were hugh....at least close to 4 feet wide and 40 " high. They told him how to build the cabs, how deep...etc:

    These speaker cabs were ...BIG to say the least. He used 2 mono block Dynoco. tube amps....Marantz pre amp an AR turntable.

    All my friends and I have never heard anything close.

    Another sad comment on a great USA company that went out of business....

    You could sit in the back of at least a 25 foot room..close your eyes....put on a live Cream or live record that was recorded in the Filmore....and think...yes I'm in the Filmore...at concert volume!!!!!!

    I have never really hered the equal of those speakers ..at that volume..to date.

    I have always tryed to due this..the 1C's have come close....the shear volume of the Bozaks..is just too much for most speakers....
    Unless your talking 20K plus at this point...you can't get this sound...LOL
