No way to tell w/o looking at the terminals on the back of the tweeter. I can't remember which is which but one of the models has both spades (clip on) the same size and one model has one larger than the other (width).
As far as I know that's the only way to tell as there is no printing on the tweeter and from the front they both look identical.

You can't tell from the front as they look exactly the same. The only way to tell is the connectors on the back. The RD0198-1 has one large spade and one small spade.Political Correctness'.........defined

If the paperwork from Polk states they are 198's chances are they are 198's."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Should be a lable on the magnet saying SL2000(94) or 3000(98). Another way to tell is the 94 has the same size connection posts. The 98 has one wide one and one thin one. They look alike from the front.

one large one small we have a winner. All the pics I have seen the tweets have a like weather stripping gasket around the dome on the front like the sl 2500 and sl 3000, Thank you! you guys are the best!

Correct the sl2500 and sl3000 have the "foam" ring around the dome. The 'new' RD0's don't have that."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Nice, you're going to love them. The first 30 hours or so they sound a little hollow but once they start to break-in, oh baby!
