These are 4 years old, just did not turn on recently. Its not the receiver - other speakers work fine. Isnt it odd both stopped working at the same time? Is there a fuse that could be blown in both? I get no noise at all.
Any suggestions?

    Hello,
If you're sure the receiver is working correctly and there's no sound coming from the speakers in all likelihood the tweeters and drivers have been damaged and are not producing any sound. If you've owned them less than five years and are the original owner remove the tweeters and drivers from the cabinet, disconnect the wires and send them to: Polk Audio, 2550 britannia Blvd., Suite A, San Diego, CA. 92154. Please include a short note giving us your name, address and a copy of the sales receipt. You might want to remove the screws holding the rear mounted input cup onto the speaker's cabinet. This will allow you to examine the speaker's crossover, look for any burned or blackened/exploded components on the crossover.
    Regards, Ken

I dont know the names of the speaker parts, but I have the first six screws out, lifted that plate off and everything looks attached and ok. I dont see any more screws to remove to do what you said?

now I took the input cup out and looked - everything is connected - I dont know if its normal but the end of the circuit board away from where the speaker wires connect looks a little yellow. bubbled, burned? I will open up the othe speaker and see what that looks like

aha! I opened the other speakers input cup and there are those two white box type things broken off of the wires at one end - so still attached on one end. those two white boxes were not even present in the other speaker - broke off and fell in? Is this repairable? thanks
