Loving my LSI 25's

Hi, I'm new up here and I just got my new LSI 25's and they are great with my new B&K AVR 707. This whole system is new for me as I have finally stepped into the 21st Century. This year retired my old Teac Receiver and JBL 100's, man what difference. I am looking at cables now; a friend of mine has swallowed some cool aid over MIT Cables and swears they work unbelievably well. He's going to bring them over this week for me to try. In the past I've always made my own cables with pretty good results. I'm open to suggestion at this point in my life and am curios about what you all may have experienced, and works well with these new beautiful LSI 25's.

Welcome to Club Polk Ross . . . you can't go wrong with MIT cables. My rig is complete with MIT ICs and MIT speaker cable.

There is a link floating around on the forum for a serious discount on some MIT cables. Do a forum search and see if you can find it. Like 50-60% off of list on some nice stuff.

Welcome to the forum and glad you are liking the Lsi25s. I've only tried the smaller Lsi speakers, but love em.

I'm very pleased with the blue jeans cables. Very substantial and reasonably priced. I think you made a wise choice on the 25's:p Hope you have younger neighbors than I do.

Out of curiosity, did you try that amp with the JBL 100s? And compared that with the Polk because that is a factor. Did your JBLs have the titanium domes? Because those were pretty good speakers and EXTREMELY powerful and efficient!

Welcome to the forum, You have a very nice system there. Excellent amps for those Lsi speakers.
I'm not a fan of MIT wire. I prefer Audioquest and Kimber Kable. I find both companies make the best sounding wire depending on my mood. I go back and forth. But in the end I enjoy both wire companies. Many guys around here use MIT wire so you will get a lot of opinions there.

Good luck with your system. On a side note B&K is suppose to release a update for there preamp which is exactly the same one in your receiver. There is also talk about adding a room correction system and built in Decoding for DD HD and DTS MA. I hope that comes soon as the B&K's are sitting around.

Hi Ross, I'm kind of new around here but have been posting on other forums
for a couple of years now. I too own the LS I 25's , and once I got the room placement figured out, I've been really happy with them. I have to say that like your friend, I'm an MIT fan too. The reason I dropped in on the conversation, is because I recently developed a bit of a relationship with Steve Holt, the national sales manager at MIT. I called the factory because I needed to "stretch" a pair of MIT Shotgun cables (I really loved those things), because they were too short for the new room placement. After I had filled him in on my situation (recently broke over a new speaker purchase), he suggested that I could get in on a beta testing program for a new DIY speaker cable they were introducing. Well I got a pair; they're called the "Giant Killers"! The kit was complete and pretty simple overall. I had to cut and strip some wires and install the little "multipole" modules, but It was a lot of fun and I got a terrific result when I was done. I have to admit, they are really great sounding, and improving daily. (Lately I've been pulling the modules in and out and It's driving me crazy how the presentation changes!). IMHO if you're considering a do it yourself project, I'd check out these MIT DIY kits. I don't know if the "beta" deal ( I saved 20% by participating) is still on, but it might be worth a try.

JBL100s. There's a blast from the past. What are they, around 30 years old? Speaker technology does move on. Good move getting LSi speakers.
