I still have not pulled the trigger on the VPI 16.5, I am having a hard justifing a $600 record cleaner. I really want it, And i am sure once i had it i would be very pleased. But thats $600 i would like to spend towards a new receiver or amp or start my room treatments with. Decisions Decisions.

It's a great investment. Seriously, clean records go a long way in making good sound. More importantly the convenience factor goes a long way to keeping you on the couch listening and away from the tub scrubbing.

Vinyl used to drive us nuts with those sounds it made when I was in High School. We tried everything to get rid of it. Now there are SUPER MAYTAG-like WASHERS at over 600dollars a pop. Too rich for my blood.

Perhaps keeping them in an vacuum container orbiting the planet earth and playing them in space..using a clamping device with computer traction so you can track at a negligible weight is the ultimate solution.

Sorry for the humor guys. But there is no way I can spend that kind of money on a record cleaning machine and not check myself in! I do understand that they seem to work. But man, how labor intensive can we get.
