Samsung is the #1 selling TV for a reason. Great picture at low prices. You could buy 2 or 3 750's for what a Pioneer Elite Kuro costs.
No you didn't...:eek::eek::eek:
Seems funny that I got rid of 2 Samsung's for my Pioneer...:D
Just kidding...Sammy's are great TV's
Go with Panasonic! -

I never said Samsung had a better picture than Pioneer just stated that a great picture and fairly priced makes them #1 in the market. -

My 52 inch emotiva will kick your Pioneers butt.:p -
Don't get it off Ebay! THey are not an authorized dealer for Pioneer Elite products and your 2 year warranty is void.
www.valueelectronics.com is an Authorized Elite Dealer and sells it for $2799 with free white glove delivery. He is an AVSforum sponsor. Great to deal with.
Awesome CS from VE, Rob is a very good guy and takes care of the customer. Bought my SC07 from him.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Damn straight. I just took delivery of a Pioneer Elite Pro-111FD a few days ago from him.
I called up the delivery company to confirm my delivery date, which in turn found out that they were going to deliver the unit "curb-side". I said hell no, you guys were suppose to deliver the unit with two guys in home. I immediately called Robert about the issue and stated what was going on, not even ten minutes later the delivery company calls me back apologizing about the mistake and will delivery the unit via white glove immediately. Kudos to Robert, best customer service ever with a direct line to the man himself and not on hold all day with some machine. -
don't buy higher priced TV, you know the price will come down....having said that, unless you are in bright area of the house, there won't be too much difference in depth on black color.
calibraton DVD's are cheap and you can rent one from blockbuster and return it afterwards. early models have cloud problems. that's almost a thing of the past but it's not gone.
I have samsung LCD TV and it's also my computer monitor which also is my HTPC...I notice cloud when there's no source when powered on. but it's not a problem when you are watching TV or using it as computer monitor.Video: LG 55LN5100/Samsung LNT4065F

I'm going to do that myself, a couple hundred extra dollars isn't a bad deal. Robert gives an extended 3 year warranty from MACK for like an additional $275. A total of 5 years and it's in-home warranty. Thanks for reminding me, I believe you have 30 days from the purchase to grab the extended warranty. -

I never buy the warranty but I did on my TV and I've used it. It's worth the few hundred to have that safty net. On TV's the warranty seems to cover just about anything that could go wrong.Michael

Yup, I've bought from there too, good place to buy. I've also bought from www.dealcost.com www.vanns.com www.powersellernyc.com www.beyondplasma.com -
I'm not saying you'd have any issues receiving the product, it's the warranty if you encounter issues down the road and your warranty is simply void. It's important purchasing an expensive Pioneer Elite from an authorized retailer for that reason, especially when you can get it cheaper or for about the same price from VE.

pablo_rodz wrote: »Hello, I need your thoughts. I'm looking for a new TV. I've done a lot of research, but I'm still undecided. My budget i's about $3000 - $3200 including the wall mount. I watch mostly HD TV and Movies (blue ray), no gaming. The room has 3 windows but they are covered 95% of the time, so it's not too bright in the room. I want to replace my current 55" mitsubishi rear projection tv.
I want plasma for the picture quality, but I'm not sure about the life span of plasma vs LCD. I want a tv that last more than 5 years. We watch an average of 4-6 hrs. of tv daily.
These are the Plasma sets I've been looking at;
Pioneer 6020 - but it's out of budget
Panasonic - TH-58PZ800u very good set, can be had for $2500
Samsung - PN58-550 or 650 - Blacks not as deep as the two above.
For LCD I would go with either Smasung LN52-650 or Sony XBR6 (52")
What do you guys think? what wall mounts should I look at?
Thanks to all
Perhaps, you might want to take a look at LCD TV ratings. Knowing the pros and cons is also a good way of determining whether it is best or not. The expert reviews are a good source for that. -

pablo_rodz when you get the chance hook it up to a Pioneer reciever and Pioneer blu ray player, they work even better when connected together.

I have the 58" Sammy 650 plasma and LOVE IT! I looked at the Kuro as well but it was just too much for me. Its the best TV out there but if you dont have the extra money then dont get it. Nothing worse than buyers remorse. YOu will always be happy with the TV in your budget b/c you will be able to pay your other bills. Just not worth it in these economic times. Check out this link and it will help you dial your TV in with picture settings to get it close to 6500k without paying $300 for a calibration tech to do it. Once again i love it and all of my friends hate me because my tv is so much better than theirs. One more thing. Its different when you get it home because you dont have a Kuro sitting next to it to compare it to. Seriously you will love the TV. I got mine for $2699 at best buy on a price match. they are hurting so dont settle for their **** sales price. good luck!
