Just watched this movie tonight, it wasn't ground breaking or anything (obviously), but i had fun watching it and thought it was pretty good. I didn't really have any expectations going into to it though, which is probably why i really enjoyed it. Plus i'm a horror junkie and love a good zombie/infected type of flick, no matter how many times it's done. It's definitely not a movie everyone will enjoy, i'm sure many will hate it, but if you aren't to critical and enjoy a zombie/infected type of movie then you'll probably have fun watching this one.

Also, the audio in this movie was fantastic. Below is a review i found specifically on the sound of the movie. I pretty much agree with all of it except the part about the dialog, i had no problem with it.
As similarly happened in 'Cloverfield', the movie's aggressive 5.1 sound mix belies its alleged origins as found footage from a handheld video camera. This is a full-on surround sound experience with directional panning effects throughout the soundstage. If you can suspend that disbelief, it sounds pretty terrific. The mix creates a superbly creepy atmosphere. Sirens outside the building blare constantly. Helicopters circle overhead. The building creeks and groans.

The lossless Dolby TrueHD soundtrack features sharp effects and plenty of rumbly bass. Gunshots crack with authority. The only weak element is dialogue, which is designed to sound like it's been recorded from handheld and clip-on mics not always aiming at the right subject. As a result, many lines vary in clarity and intelligibility depending on the action of the scene. That's intentional, but it creates a disconnect when placed in the middle of an otherwise slickly-produced audio track.

I had already seen the original Spanish language movie REC, so I saw Quarantine more out of curiosity as to whether they would do a decent remake. Surprisingly, it was really well done, more so than most remakes. I do have a few issues, in that the scares were better in the original and they changed the reveal of what the "disease" really was to something stupid, but overall it was an above average remake.

The sound was definitely well done. Worth seeing if you're a fan of the genre, but... I strongly recommend picking up a copy of the original. REC was much scarier and had a better back story.

I was entertained. There was a scene that actually made me jump (much to the amusement of my fiancee). The only thing that bothered me was when the reporter became screechy towards the end. There were a couple of times where I would have chucked her to the zombie things myself.

Ive not seen this but from the previews and other clips Ive found online it seems to suffer from the same "shaky camera" crap that these idiot directors think is so cool now (Bourne Ultimatum / Cloverfield). I think Ill wait til this one hits cable. Looks pretty good tho, just tired of having seizures when watching movies.

I think I know what scene made you jump, timlitton: don't want to give any spoilers, but there's a scene in the attic ..........

We just got done watching Quarantine; they didn't have it on BluRay, so we settled for reg DVD.

Good movie that's worth at least a rent/download.

This was fun, quality cheesy horror except for the way it was shot through the lens of the reporter's cameraman. I hate that. I also didn't like the way it ended but that one was minor.

Recommended for the zombie/Resident Evil/28 Days Later fans.
