Hi everyone. I have noticed a popping or crackling in my speakers recently and it is driving me nuts. I am running a Yamaha 6140 receiver and Polk Rm6750 speakers. At first I thought the amp may have been causing the snapping or cracking in the speakers so i had my amp sent away for repair. In the mean time I bought an other amp and the speakers where still popping. It doesn't usually happen when using analog signals but it happens all the time when using digital signals. ei optical/ coaxial. It pretty much crack or pops all the time whether I am using my PS3, 360 or, PVR. Should I send the speakers back or is this normal. Thanks...

I can't think of what it could be but it is not normal. Sounds like bad cables but you said it's on optical and coax and mutiple sources. I would still try at least one new cable, check your speaker connections make sure there are no stray wires and that they are not loose also try to determine for sure if it is just digital sources and is it really all 3 of the sources you listed, or it just seemed that way until you listened closer.

+1, I was thinking along the same line. Remove ALL wires at BOTH ends and connect one at the time, test then add another one and so on... Redo all connections properly, you need only tiny piece of strand shorting to create such problem.
