Having bought this unit about a week ago I just thought I would comment on it. First off I have never seen anything so loaded with options. Loaded so much I will never get to it all. I myself set up my past unit the Sunfire Theater pro 3. For the Anthem I had to hire an Audio Tech.
Co-ordinating all the inputs and outputs for all units was to much for me. I guess I just don't have the patience for it.
Now comparing it to my Sunfire I have to say there indeed is a difference. Sound, picture, Hdmi switching and of course 50 feet of less wire do indeed make the purchase worth it for me. Even the wife who still can't understand HD told me something is different, the sound.
Having bought the unit from reading all the reviews I read, and never hearing it I truely am very happy with it.
It is not the unit for everyone, but if you have a chance to sample give it a try.

Congrats, Doug. That is one nice piece of a processor. Does it handle DTS-MA?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

if it's the new 50v yes, if he got an older unit then no but it can be upgraded.

I have been considering this unit as my Pre but it carries a heay price tag.

Congrats on the very nice pre!

If he grabs a BD player that decodes DTS-MA, he doesnt need it in the Anthem.

Yes the only thing left is a BD player. Still have not decided on that yet. I have a ton of cd's and dvd's. Looking for a unit which will play them and of course Blue ray. As far as the DTS-MA, I have not read into that to much. I will continue to read iabout that before a purchase. Thanks
