Pretty much says it all.Seller packed both amps in one box,,I'm crying here,,as I've been waiting on these for a month,, broken fuse, fuse cap, power switch, faceplate ding. Eh,, just venting my frustration and disappointment.A'gon seller should know better,,let's see what they do to make me happy.

Sorry to hear that George. What a stupid way to damage an amplifier.

Hope the seller does the right thing.

Hoping the seller or the carrier will make this right...I always cringe a little when I buy something used and the seller no longer has the original packing material.

    Best of luck to ya.

Thanks guys,, well being the impatient person that I am,, I pulled out the glasses and hemostats and performed some surgery on the switch,,I don't think that I'll ever leave EL-34's,,the detail and sweetness calls me back to the days of Hendrix,The Who,and others,as they used EL 34's in their amps for the music that I grew up with. The pic's ain't pretty, but at least I'm listening to them.

    AH,, tube sweetness

BTW,, Odyssey mono's will most likely be culled.

;) As soon as i started playing with tube power amps my Mono SE's started collecting dust and i eventually sold them.David Manley designed great tube amps that were fast and musical with a good bottom end that has balls. There is nothing soft or wimpy about the earlier VTL tube Amps. Our tastes in gear are similar and i love my MB-100's so i had no problem recommending that you go for the VTL compact 100's when you asked for my opinion.Little did i know that a seller with good feedback and running a professional Audio webstore would be careless enough to ship these fairly rare beauties in such an unprofessional manner. If these guys dont make it right i will post it on every audio board that i can think of  .Thanks....WCW III

Here's the reply,,, maybe it's just me,, but when do you pack two mono amps in the same box, bubble wrapped and seperated by styrofoam,is that right???, this reply is from the owner of Mss Hi ZFi,, formerly JB Audio,, or something like that, kinda sux.

"We are not responsible for shipping damage, as per our return and sales policy. We will file a claim with Fedex on Monday.

VTL is a mom and pop shop. Service support is long and mediocre. This is an all-tube design, which means any qualified technician can easily work on it. We have service technicians who can work on this better and faster than VTL."

How does it go,,, Buyer beware,, my reply was for him to put himself in my place and do the right thing.

    Lesson learned.

Recently, I also had a lackluster experience with them. I wonder if the name change was also a change in ownership/management.
