What would cause the subwoofers to pop when they turn on and off? Any way to just keep them on?

Anything from cheap electronics to static eletricity. My old stock pioneer sub popped everytime I touched the back (design flaw).

thats about it, try powering down the sub last if you havent done it. sometimes the sub will pop if you turn the procesor/reciever off first. worth a shot. I leave my sub amp on, but it's a DIY job with a sub plate amp made for that. check the manual to see if leaving your on is kosher or not

My Sunfire Sub pops when they go on from standby and into standby (no on/off switch). They're sitting on carpet so I'm pretty sure its static electricity. The Sub didn't do this when I put a 1/2" MDF board underneath (which I removed becuase sound was better w/ sub dorectly on the carpet).

Mine does very slightly. I have it on carpet too.
