    also I get the impression that this guy has played with these speakers alot so correct polarity to each speaker should be checked.

    Yeah i was wondering how F%@KED up they might be after talking to this guy. i will see what i can do, this is why i wanted to know about parts for them befor i drive up there, also i think ben is the one with the real nice set that he refurbished,the set he got was in bad shape when he started his project. i figured if i got them i would have plenty of time to refurbish them,as im not ready for the preamp-amp combo for a 2 channel set up + i want to really look around as to what i want. somebody mentioned a tube preamp,and just an amp for a killer setup.what i was wondering is why a tube preamp,and not just a preamp and a tube amp? this is why i really want to look around and make the right choice,as i am new to this side of audio but i have learned many things in the last few months,and plan to learn more.im real happy with my HT setup. but i really am looking forward to having a 2 channel setup in our room up stairs.+ im still wondering if i just want to go with the LSi's and not have to do all the work on these.time will tell as doing the work on these would be fun,and you can always have the pride in the fact that you DIY.

    I think you should go for the 2.3tl if they do indeed sound better than mine your ears will be in for a real treat, your more than welcome to come by and listen to mine if you want to.

    well nobody seemed to want these and the tempation was too great just being 20 miles away,so I just unloaded them and am about to go see what I got myself into, Theyre a bit rougher than I remembered but promiss to be a fun project and will look and sound awesome when I am done with them. as a result some others might have to so, look for them on the classifieds,
