Subwoofer sounds

For a day or two after leaving the AVR on all night, there was a distinct intermittent "wave" or ocean wave crashing sound coming from the sub. Then it was gone. Anyone else heard that??? Cannot explain it, although I turned it (the whole thing) off for a few hours and lowered the limit on the low pass knob.

The only thing that I can think of is to check the port of your sub for an inverted sea shell by holding the port up to your ear.

I knew this **** forum thing was **** ****; moreso when they tried to sell it to me. I have probably set up more steros and audio than all you 18 year old idiots combined and all can come up with is that kind of stupid response? Shows you what you are and what you really know. I already figured out the low pass is tempermental and I'll be damned if I'm gonna add anything more to this.

Count me out. I will not be back and you can bet on it.

You're the one who left his AVR on for two days (I'm just sayin')...and I'm sure you've hooked up more stereos, but us real audio lovers have a minimum requirement of five speakers and a sub per system...

Welcome to Club Polk :D, .....oh er uh nevermind :(

Seriously, you respond with such language and anger and all by only your second post? With that you will not last here, and you most certainly would not be welcome here either. On second thought, I take that back. Actually there are plenty here that like to argue and may actually cherish having you around.

Anybody know what is the record for getting banned in the least amount of posts?

I really have hooked up a lot of stereos as well. I have never noticed the ocean sound coming through unless i was listening to the ocean on a recording, are you sure there isn't an ocean recording playing?

I am pretty sure you can still hook up a single speaker and get sound, maybe not stereo, but hey, you still get sound.

I've hooked up a lot of stereos AND hooked up the same stereo several times. Never an ocean sound.

Just check your connections and do some basic trouble shooting like change out interconnects, etc. I have no idea what the sound is you are talking about but it sounds odd.

    ...there tried to help.

I'm pretty sure I'm not 18. Sure am in a goofy mood on the forum the last couple of days though. Some people take things too seriously.
