Play the heck out of the Lego game that came with it.

Oh yeah, and don't forget to check out the CC Liquidation. I know most of the other deals are worthless, but Xbox360 games (well all console games) are 30% off which is tough to beat.

I am streamng Netflix right now. That's a pretty cool feature although the titles are very limited. At least right now. But it's pretty smooth. No hiccups.

    I haven't played a game yet.

I rented COD5 and played it online. Graphics were sharper, more 3D and awesomer!:D Even the sound is better, IMO The multiplayer game play was smooooooooth. No hitches no lost connections. So far the Xbox is definitely a winner. The fan is just way too loud though to do any movie watching even if it ever got Blu Ray capability.

Well Live and the PSN are just in two different scopes of gaming. And you pretty much summed it up in one sentence.

Edit: Comparing to the PS3 not the Wii.

Although I agree the 360 is a way better system than the Wii, I have to disagree with it being better than the PS3. I have to admit that Live is better than PSN, but other than that the advantages are all on PS3's side. Internet browser, and Blu-Ray capability and wireless out of the box with no additional hardware requirements (not sure about the Elite) Also Bluetooth capability, and ability to install pretty much any aftermarket hard drive on the PS3, whereas only Xbox specific HD will work in the Xbox. All of these factors (and more) IMHO make it a better deal and better system than the Xbox. PSN isn't that bad, I play COD4 all the time with no interuptions (ever since my new router upgrade) and I wouldn't trade my PS3 for 20 Xbox's, lol. Just my $.02

I started with the Star Wars one. Never got too far. I believe it was thier first version of the lego series.
Anyway, my 3 and 5 yo boys who had been playing thier Leapsters every so often, had tried the Batman and Indy demos. Up until this point the only games I could really find for them to play was the Ultra Marble game. Everything else was just too complicated or Adult.
Took a little trial and error over a couple of gaimg sessions, but in just a few days, they really got the hang of it and could play through the entire demo of both without any assistance. I was floored. I went out an bought Indiana Jones-found it cheap at Sams Club for like $20.

The boys have both gotten very good at it. In just a couple weeks, now they can start the projector, the xbox, the Onkyo, Login to the correct Non-Live profile, start the game, load the saved game and play. I am simply floored. They flip through the menus like they've been doing it for years, and neither one can even read yet.

Then I got them Batman as well. They even tried Star Wars (which I already had). I only have to help them once in awhile, but they usually figure it out.

They have gotten so much playtime in, they love it! The only problem is that its real difficult to get them to do anything else. Like eat or sleep--well eventually they'll have to. I am amazed when I hear them playing. The teamwork and problem solving they go through is, to me, unheard of in kids that age.

Whenever I get the chance I try to sit in on a couple levels. It is so awesome to finally be able to sit with my sons and play a game on the Xbox and with somebody that has a level of understanding of the game.:cool::cool: Some of the best times of my life right here. :D:D

Star Wars to me was more difficult to play, now that I've been able to play Indy and Batman to compare. It seems that SW limits the movement too much-stays too zoomed in. Where BM and IJ lets the camera zoom out more so the two players can be a little farther away from each other. Which for my boys is a good thing. Just makes it more fun.

Sorry to make that so long, just wanted to share. :o

    And i must respectfully disagree.
The 360 wins hands down as a gaming machine IMO (i own both by the way, no fanboy here)...:p

    Superior online experience.
    Better exclusive titles.
Games look, feel, and run better (especially since you can finally install them to the HDD).
The controller is much better, button layout is better, and it's much more comfortable to use overall.

Don't get me wrong, i love the PS3 and it's an awesome machine as well. I used to be a PS1 and PS2 guy until i got my hands on an Xbox, and then an Xbox 360. I just find myself using the PS3 for bluray movies and music, not games. I'll always buy multiplatform games for the 360 over the PS3.

Everything i've said above is just in my personal opinion of course. I just like the 360 better in regards to gaming, i'm not saying that one actually is better than the other though, there both great! :D

...The fan is just way too loud though to do any movie watching even if it ever got Blu Ray capability.
    ...

I used to stream my kids DVDs (ripped to my HD as VOBs for convenience) and also have the HD-DVD player but the fan noise was too loud. I had planned (and still do) to put it in a cabinet with a door but with more than enough ventilation.

My Kids just don't watch the movies much anymore (that I had ripped), and I've since gotten a stand-alone HD-DVD player, so the xBox hasn't been getting used for anything but games lately.

I don't have NetFlix yet, but have been seriously considering it since its now supported. If I do though, I will definately have to stow it so I don't have to hear it-too distracting during quieter scenes in a movie.

I actually did not hear the fan when streaming the Netlix movie. Just when playing the games. I don't think it came on.

Just out of curiosity, why is the online play so much better? Better servers? It is way superior.

I can't get used to the controller though. It's a tad to big for my hands. I'm having to jump around it to play COD5 so I may have to get a smaller version. I am so used to the PS3 controller that I keep throwing flares and grenades at everyone when I want to aim and shoot.:D

You can actually install the games to the hard drive, makes for a much quieter experience (in regards to the noise from the 360), and also improves loading times a little bit on some games.

You'll be fine if you have the 120g, i have the same one, and have a bunch of games installed, and plenty of room to spare. Plus you can always just erase a game from the hard drive when your done with it.

You can't do that, even though you download the game to the hard drive, you still need the disc in the machine to play it. The disc won't spin, and you'll be playing straight from the hard drive, but without the disc, you can't play.

I concur. Honestly for anyone who says the PS3 is better from a PURELY GAMING standpoint, read the reviews. Developers can't seem to get it right, as the PS3 versions of games SHOULD look better, but don't. It is sad, as we can all see the power of the PS3 w/ games like Killzone2, yet other developers can't get it right.
I exchanged it for the XBOX Elite. Now I just need the router and some games.

If you like FPS there are a ton. IMO COD4 is the best of the series. Halo3 is good, but if you haven't played the others you will probably be quite lost. Bioshock is absolutely amazing, yet if you have a PS3 I think there is more content on that version. The Orange Box is a must, even if you never played Halflife. Fallout3 is pretty epic, but more of a RPG.

Then there is Gears of War 1+2 & Deadspace, all phenomenal games. If you are into racing I personally love Burnout Revenge, not a fan of Paradise. Of course GTAIV if you haven't played it already. Braid & Castle Crashers are both great short games, w/ Braid being one of my favorite 360 games.

You can't do everything the first time through a level. You have to complete the level, then go back and play in Free Play mode. In Free Play you can switch characters in the level at will (for any that you unlocked) that usually have other abilities that let you get to all the other goodies on a level. For example, you use Shortie to crawl thorugh small doors. Metal Barricades are destroyed by using explosives, or a bazooka or something (I'm not sure which barricade you're talking about though.) I picked up the Game Guide at CC cheap (We only use it as a last resort-only had to use it once so far in Story Mode)

It's very simple, you should actually see the options play game, downloads, then install to hard drive, everytime you put a game in.

Metal, seriously, AWESOME. Just installed dead space, defiantly an improvement and I have a quieter "falcon" elite. Wish I knew this before, as I played some games late at night where I had to have it quite and hence the dvd drive noise came into play. Oh well, great feature and now I can use that dam HD space.

As for the games, for those who don't know PPLAY15 for gamestop online gives 15% off all used games. Wing if you are patient you can wait for the buy 2 get 1 free event that they have 2x per year at gamestop. I got my Elite last year and bought 6 FPS games for ~$150, took advantage of a sale + B2G1 + 15% off.

    Too late Caligula ;).

I am streamng Netflix right now. That's a pretty cool feature although the titles are very limited. At least right now. But it's pretty smooth. No hiccups.

    I haven't played a game yet.
