Sorry to be off topic, but I just read your sig, heiney9. That's a really awesome quote. Puts it very well.

i could go either way on the avatars.... even if we could use avatars.. i still wouldn't. it's to much of a effort for me to come up with a picture that small. what do they usually have to .. like under 18 x 18 cm or something odd like that.

like someone said.. lots of other forums use avatars.. some are good.. and some bad or course. I don't think by this forum not having avatars, it's driving people away.

Why can't we hover over thread titles to read the first few sentences like other V Bulletin forums?

    I absolutely despise that feature.

I also can't stand the thread "preview". I'm on other forums that have that, and it annoys the hell out of me. I'll always be trying to read the thread title, and then the preview will pop up over it, as I'm reading it. We don't need that feature here.;)

Because it's a public forum that belongs to Polk Audio, that's why. If the forum is not to your liking, you have options. One of them is to leave.

we dont want it so every so often a new guy can come along and make the suggestion to fix our forum, afterwhich we virtually pound upon their very essence, stomping them into the earth until such time as they are so much of an environmental hazard that the EPA arrives and cleans up the remains with a trip to your nearest Superfund site.

I hope you find this information useful.

... and make the suggestion to fix our forum...

I don't know that I was making a suggestion to "fix" it per se. I expressed that I like some features that appear in other forums. In the same breath I stated that I like the community as a whole. And I still do.

(FYI the following is not aimed at anyone in particular)

But if a handful of members are expecting me to "apologize" for my opinion... you'll be waiting a long time. I can appreciate differing points of view and can have differences of opinion without becoming standoffish. I like to discuss and I try never to be rude although sometimes I'm sarcastic. The large majority of you have a sense of humor and are a great source of knowledge. You can give it AND get it. I appreciate that. That means you too George.

I liked the Grandiose signature. Made me laugh.

Exactly. I hate "trying" to navigate down some web pages that are loaded with those damn automatic-hyperlinks.

There's a good idea, an RSS feed from the forum. Wouldn't affect how the reg forum looks either. I like it.
