Fast and the furious Transformers and Gi all look to be winners. Juicy times coming in movies. I love it.

    Again thanks Ron

Never watched the cartoon, but DID play with the toys. I just read A synopsis, where they're a UN organization??? If Holyweird doesn't fix that, this movie will TANK!

    G.I Joe is awesome!
I still have G.I Joe figures from when i was a kid in my basement. I used to have a section of my bedroom when i was a kid setup with all sorts of G.I. joes, their vehicles, etc. The only childhood toys i actually held on too. lol

I've never seen or played with anything Joe so I don't care what they do to the story, it just looks like a great popcorn action film.

Cobra was the MAN. I was just wondering a few weeks ago if they were ever gonna make a great G.I. Joe flick!

    Hope this one comes through.

I still have all my Joe stuff also. I could never part with my old toys, as I saw all my friend's mother sell them for $1 at a yard sale. I remember sending away for Sgt. Slaughter and hooded Cobra Commander.

A buddy of mine had a huge basement and the aircraft carrier, it was huge.

I still also kept my Transformers, Voltron, Star Wars, etc..

No doubt. What an insult to term "GI Joe" referring to the US military during WWII if the movie casts them as a UN organization.

Hasbro says they addressed and fixed the UN / US thing : http://www.hasbro.com/gijoe/default.cfm?page=News/Item&newsid=F285F255-D56F-E112-46FAEBF95750D7E9
The second generation, was created in 1982, and is based on a cast of fictional heroes and villains that make up the “G.I. Joe vs. Cobra” fantasy. The premise of this fantasy is the story of the G.I. Joe team, led by Duke, and their “fight for freedom wherever there is trouble” against the evil Cobra Commander and his Cobra force. This storyline was an instant hit with kids in the early 1980s, spawning a highly popular 3-3/4-inch action figure line, comic book collection and animated series.

This movie will be a modern telling of the “G.I. Joe vs. Cobra” storyline and its compelling characters that Hasbro created 25 years ago. The G.I. Joe team will not be based in Brussels. Instead, they will be based out of the “Pit” as they were throughout the 1980s comic book series. And, in keeping with the G.I. Joe vs. Cobra fantasy, the movie will feature characters and locations from around the world. Duke, the lead character and head of the G.I. Joe team, will embody the values of bravery and heroism that the first generation of G.I. Joe figures established.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Um.. upon further review, I was thinking Stormshadow, not Cobra. Wasn't Cobra actually the bad guys group? Man, I am way outta touch with my G.I. Joe history ;)

I also used to smash match box cars with a hammer and pretend they got into an accident lol.

    I was a destructive little ****...:p

Uhhh... he's the guy from that corny dance movie "Step Up" isn't he?

I loved G.I. Joe as a kid and want it to be good, but I'm on the fence about this one until I see more trailers. Of course, I said the same thing about Transformers and that was amazing.

When I was a kid we came across a brick of firecrackers, and basically wrapped most toys we had in them and set them off. Somehow the only thing better than having cool toys is destroying them.

Love G.I. Joe and still have a lot of the toys in storage. No aircraft carrier though :(.

What's with Destro ? No metal face? Plus it's from the director of "The Mummy"? Not a fan of his movies...fingers crossed

Anyone remember the comic where they unmasked Destro, Snake-Eyes and Cobra Commander all in the same issue?
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Man howd I miss this?! That trailer looks flat out awesome!

I loved GI Joe stuff as a kid 2nd only to Star Wars. Storm Shadow was always my favorite - great to see theyve got him in there!

This year has been an outstanding year for movies already! Terminator 3, Taken, Wolverine and Star Trek just to name a few! Looks like this is going to be a good year for Hollywood.
