mmadden, or anyone, can you comment on the Polk Room Optimizer? Did it help, hurt I assume this works like the SMS-1? debating whether it would be better to add a SMS-1 to my PC Ultra or move to the Polk/Velodyne sub with it built it.

The SMS-1 is way more customizable to the mains and the rooms acoustics but the Polk room optimizer does a real good job with blending the sub to the room provided the sub is in a suitable location.

Leroy, I must have had a couple of windows open and posted a response on the wrong thread. Post #23 actually goes to another thread somewhere else on the forum. My apologies.

I misplaced the setup mic, so I haven't tried it yet. My plan is to run the setup with the built-in EQ and use the SMS-1 to graph the response to see how well it does. I'll likely keep the SMS-1 in play anyway since it has a 'visual' volume indicator and the ability to store several EQ presets depending on the type of bass resposne I want (like more bass for movies, less for reg TV, etc).
As far as the auto EQ thing-even the SMS-1 needed tweaking to get the response flat so I would imagine the same would be true for the Polk-we'll see. I'll try to find that mic this w/e.

Thanks man, I appreciate that.
I'm sure I'll find it-I didn't unpack it that long ago. I just have to put some of the hundred boxes I have now in the attic. :o
