what a disappointing weekend for me in Sports. First every fighter I wanted to win got hosed or jacked up lol then the Cards throw away the SB. Now its monday morning and I am all depressed!

BJ got man handled nothing else to say there.

I really think Nate Diaz got robbed. There is no way Clay Guida should of won that fight. He did absolutely nothing other then wrap him up and hold on for 5 minutes each round. He clearly was out boxed. UFC judges put way to much weight into take downs vs legitimate punches and submission attempts. The Karo vs Dong fight was also judged wrong in my opinion. Oh well what can you do.

Problem is the LHW division is stacked with good fighters, he'll have tough time moving up the ranks. He did have pretty good moves, we just haven't yet seen how well they work against really good opponents.

I think Penn fought the wrong guy to move up in division. I think he can beat quite a few one division up but GSP is one tough dude no matter how you cut it. I thought Penn was going to win because he didn't have to go through the physical torture of cutting weight but GSP would. Given that GSP has no extra weight on him, he'd be cutting water weight. Penn wouldn't have to and therefore he'd be much more physically capable.

But from what I saw, Penn had the weight, 168 pounds, to go toe to toe with GSP. He also has the strength and raw talent. But he lacks conditioning because of his half-assed training regiment. He started working with a trainer and his physical appearance shows that he's dropped weight and gained muscle. But his confidence seemed to be non-existent. It was like he psyched himself out after the first round.

By round 3, GSP was leaving his guard pretty open and jabbing at will. Penn let many open opportunities go by. Penn was not his usual self that night. GSP, the last time they fought, kept a close guard because Penn has that single punch knockout strength. That could devastate any opponent and GSP is just too smart to let that fist come flying.

Penn is one of the best raw talents in the UFC, sometimes I wish he would do more conditioning and better training to use that talent to the best he can. But GSP is, without a doubt, the best technical fighter in the UFC right now and one of the best tacticians in all of MMA. His form, his execution, his posture, his guards, everything is perfect pretty much constantly. He's a pleasure to watch and I can't say I hate him but I'm not necessarily a fan either. Partly because of displays like the quite lame, almost homo erotic, skinhead-esque sing-a-long at the end of the match there. Crazy French Canuckleheads!

Controversy is already surfacing from the BJ Penn/GSP fight. I am not going to jump on the wagon and say thats why he lost, but it definitely would explain how GSP got out his triangle attempts so easily.
