I read your article about the distortion and pop sound from the speakers ......but my problem is that, i DJ and every time i hook my headphones and turn the split cue on, i get this loud pop sound (like my speakers going to blow out)from just one speaker and when i switch the cables i get it from the other speaker...i use jbl ttr series speakers (oops)...

I've done a gig that really got me depressed and embarrassed..put it this way i ended up playing on one speaker for most of the night....:eek:

please help me out people

Have you tried changing the cable?

Agreed. Sounds to me like the cable is the problem, if the problem is following the cable to different speakers.

It sounds like it could be either the cable, or shock... Winter time sometimes will get some static going.

Also it could be the mixer. Are you PC based or cd? If you are pc based, what kind of sound card are you using?

I also DJ but I am PC based and I am using a echo pcmcia DJ card so my cue is right through the virtual dj software.

Also why would you not have your headset in place before you turn anythng on? you did say when you plug your headset in and turn on the split correct? When live, you should NEVER start hooking anything up. If i unplug my headset even from my PC card, and plug it back in, i will sometimes get a pop from static. If you use 2 different typs of cue, get a 2nd set of headphones and keep them plugged in.
