Newbe Needs Help With PSW10

I have a PSW10 that worked great for about a year and then developed a problem.
It would wake me up in the middle of the night with a very loud 60 cycle hum. I would have to get out of bed and turn on the amp to stop the very loud hum. I could then shut down the amp and go back to bed. This would happen 2 to 3 times a week. I figured it had to be the cable would "OPEN", so I ordered a new Monster brand sub cable. As I pulled the speaker out of my cabinet to change the cable it went off again, giving me a scare. I was never on top of it when the hum started. I changed the cable and when I went to test it, the PSW10 was DEAD.
There is no visible fuse on the back panel, but that would be my guess. Does anyone know if there is one on the inside AND if I go to the inside will that void my warranty?

I don't know about the fuse issue, but let me comment:
I have my subs on surge protector strips which I turn OFF when the systems aren't playing. Why?: 1) the power supply will remain on all the time if I don't, so why let it consume power when it isn't being used. 2) less time on = longer life. 3) Electronics do fail eventually, and I don't like the thought that something could make the magic smoke while I'm not there.
