My wife was watching anything and every thing related to the ingratiation last night. Beyoce was sing Ella Fitzgeralds "At Last" and I actually had a tear well up in my eyes. First time I have ever had music touch me so emotionally. I think part of it may have been the amount of emotion she had put into it. You could just see it in her eyes and face. IMO I think she did a very good job on covering that song. Now I guess I'm gonn a have to go by a couple of Beyonce's SACDs just to see if there is anything on them worth listening to.

Later, Ted

I'd like to hear that. Such a graet song, but usually when modern artists try and cover it, they do all the ridiculous vocal acrobatics and eff it up. I'm looking at you, Christina Aguilera.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

He is in the white house now. The people that are out of work will not have much patience.

I would not want to be in his shoes.

She looks like a blow-up doll most of the time.

And she has a nice voice, but she doesn't know how to use it for the most part.

... Beyoce was sing Ella Fitzgeralds "At Last"...
    From Wiki:

"At Last!" is a 1941 song written by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren for the musical film Orchestra Wives, starring George Montgomery and Ann Rutherford. It was first performed in the film and on record by Glenn Miller and his orchestra, vocal by Ray Eberle & Pat Friday. The song was a major hit for Miller, reaching number fourteen on the Billboard pop charts in 1942, and it soon became a standard. Nat King Cole recorded it in 1957 on his number one album Love Is the Thing. In 1960, it was covered by blues singer Etta James in a performance that improvised on Warren's melody. James was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999 for her rendition of the song.

I was intrigued, because I attributed this song to Etta James, not Ella, but like so many good songs, there have been several versions over the decades ...

Now, who knows which is the best of the Etta James recordings?!
    Alea jacta est!

I'm gonna guess it was just a slip of the tongue; "Eta" and "Ella" are easily mixed up, and not many people have heard of Eta James while Ella Fitzgerald is a more well-known singer.
