$4 monoprice cable saves day

I had almost completely given up on getting my PS3 and Onkyo 805 to play nice via HDMI. Then, just for fun, I ordered a $4.11 HDMI cable from monoprice.com I hooked it up and was streaming Linear PCM in seconds.
Previously, I was unable to get the PS3 and Oinker to synch up with my "good" HDMI cables. I'm happy now, but I'm out a little green on the other HDMI cables.
Go Monnoprice!
Oh yeah, my HD-DVD player worked fine with the first HDMI cable.

Sometimes just getting a properly built cable works best. On a side note I have not seen any noticeable differences between lower ned well built and higher end well built cables for HDMI.Dan

I only use Monoprice HDMI cables. They are BY FAR superior to any of the $75-125 HDMIs(Monster, AR, AQ , Philips and another I can't recall) I've used. Luckily I only need (3) meter pairs and one 1.5 meter one. There switcher works great too. When it comes to video cables, they're who I'm, sticking with. As for analog ICs, now that's another question."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

I agree on the cheap HDMI cables. I needed cables when hooking up my living room set, and read some reviews that the cheaper cables performed as well as the expensive stuff. I needed long lengths (wired it through the wall when I rebuilt it), so just picked up a bunch of "good" cheap stuff from computercables.com. It's not my main theater, so wasn't super concerned with super high quality (I actually change the channel on my wife when I walk by and she's not watching something on the HD channel).Denon AVR-3803

We all sound like a testimonial for Monoprice, but I three of them in my HT, and I've never had a problem.
My next plan is to get a long HDMI/DVI, and cable my plasma as a second monitor. My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself. -

There's no reason to spend big money on HDMI cables. I use Monoprice also.

Actually for me it doesn't show up at all unless you actually hover over it.
When you post a link, just remember to add an Underline and change the color (I usually use Blue. Like this.

just go to monoprice.com and go to the hdmi cable link to the left. it's all i use. love it. had a buddy who just got a 120hz tv set and the salesman said he needs a special $150 hdmi cable. i did the research and found it's a marketing gimmick as 120hz is done thru the tv and not the source. he took back the expensive hdmi cable (shoulda punched the salesman) and i directed him to monoprice.com. he's a happy camper now.
i also get all my adapters hdmi/dvi and switchers through them...

I've had 3 monoprice cables come out of the box bad and one go bad after a few months. Not to mention at longer distances (25+ ft), there's a HUGE difference in picture quality next to quality cables. I'm not saying Monster or other ones are worth what they are asking but even at $4, I wouldn't use them in my system...Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

We just bought a couple of them at work. We needed them overnight, and PE gets things here in 1 day so I tried them. A lot cheaper than Monoprice with overnight shipping.
Build quality seems to be about the same as monoprice, and they are working fine. They are 12 footers.
