Not sure if something like this has been done here before, but we did this on another site I was on and it worked well.

Aside from AV, I'm into...

Golf. I'm a 3 handicap with affection for Titleist equipment. Getting to a 3 is quite an accomplishment for me because I just started focusing on my game about 4 years ago AND I live in Canada where it snows a good chunk of the year. It's currently -20*C (-4F), BURRRR. I also collect Scotty Cameron putters (high-end, milled putters).

Hockey. Being Canadian you can't not enjoy the game. I play goalie with a few different groups. I'm able to get onto the ice between 3-4 times a week.

THE SAN DIEGO FREAKIN' CHARGERS! I love the Chargers, have since I was a kid. Not sure why, but I've always cheered for them. Maybe it's becuase up until about 3 years ago, they were ALWAYS the underdog. Tough to watch the first 2/3 of the season, but we will be back. OH, how we will be back! I love the Chargers so much that our basement is getting the Navy/Yellow treatment coming soon. It'll be a "man cave" of electrifying proportions! That was really cheesy, I know.

Getting married. Wedding in June, so lots of saving and planning going on. Recently I told the wife-to-be that we should have invited family only to the church, then had a big pig roast to celebrate. No tuxes or dresses, jeans and t-shirts only. Have you ever had a bad time at a pig roast? Didn't think so. Needless to say, there will be no pig...but our center pieces are gonna kick ****$! Or so I'm told

So let's hear it folks, what keeps you busy aside from AV?

Welcome sdcfan18 and congrats on the upcoming wedding.
My outside interests have been all over the map in the past few years, trying keep an interest in what my 9 year old likes to do. Currently, he seems to want to play a lot of Chess, so we play several times a week in the evening. Other than that, a little fishing, golf (son got me back into that one as well),hockey for sure and way too much work. I need to pay for this audio thing somehow.

    Where are you located?
    Michael ;)

About and hour south of Toronto. I too was into chess at that age and remember fondly playing with my Dad. We haven't played in awhile, I'm sure he could still beat me easily, lol.

Aside from HT, I love bass fishing. I have a 17 yr. old Ranger bass boat, with a 150 hp Mercury outboard motor. It runs good, but hasn't been in the water for 2-3 yrs., because gas prices got so high. If you fill the boat (50 gals. premium gas), and Suburban (37 gals. regular gas), you've gone well over $100. Being out of work for over 3 yrs. makes it kinda hard to buy the gas, especially at the prices they've been. Now that prices are down quite a bit, maybe I'll get to go fishing this year. :) People want to go fishing with me, until they find out I want help with the gas......... Oh well.

My other big interest is my computer. I enjoy it a lot too.

I'm hoping to get back into golf once a week at least this summer. Played 5 days a week as a kid, and 3x during college and right after. Unfortunately, very few muni courses offer a summer "pass" that can be purchased at a discount. As a kid, I used to get one every Christmas and pay 25, 50, then 75 cents to play a round during the week. the thought of $40 for a round makes me ill.

I've thought about getting a small tank as I have a friend that is REALLY into it. One visit to his house and watching all the work that goes into having fish has stifled my interest for now.

If you are going into fish.. getting a small tank is a very bad idea. If you are going to do it, get at least 55+ gallons. It's work but it could be a routine and once you get it down, it's not too much work. Alot of folks here have an audio room. I have a fish room instead. :D

Same here, I would like to get one for this house, god knows we have the room but the issue is I can't seem to find the right location sounds odd but I don't want it somewhere busy as I find it so relaxing and I don't spend enough time in the office to appreciate it same with the 2 other spare bedrooms. The only spot would be in our living room...but the layout doesn't work and there is no way it's going in the HT/TV room as I'll never veg out and stare at it...:(

    Congrats on the upcoming wedding!

    Aside from A/V I'm into...

I've been playing guitar for about 12 years now...I started off on an electric, but I mainly play acoustic now. I do a lot of singing too...but I'm not really at the point where I'm comfortable singing in front of people yet. I play a lot of Bob Dylan tunes...Grateful Dead, some Stones here and there...a bunch of other stuff.

I'm also big into hiking. Last summer me and my best friend took two weeks off and went backpacking through southern Utah. We hit up Bryce Canyon and Arches National Park...that was an awesome trip. We stopped at Red Rocks in Colorado on the way there and went to a Ratdog show too...if you've never seen a show at Red Rocks...you need to, that's the most insanely awesome place I have ever seen a concert at...the sound there is incredible.

I'm also a bit of a beer snob...lol...I'm always buying different kinds of beer. Lately I've been big on all the Goose Island varieties. That's a local beer from Chicago if you've never heard of it.

Hot rods are...and always have been a big part of my life. When I was younger my dad owned a shop doing custom body work and building hot rods, so I was always around badass cars from a very early age. Right now me and my dad have an 87 Monte Carlo SS that we've been building for about 8 years now...it's finally almost getting to the point where we're almost done...lol. Not that you're ever really "done" with a hot rod.

I also like parrots a lot. When I was younger I bred them for a while actually. Indian Ringneck Parakeets(not the little tiny ones). Right now I don't have any birds...but I plan to get either an African Grey or some kind of Macaw sometime in the next couple years.
