SO ahh you know B&W
So ok whats up people???
Awhile ago I went and heard the Cm's by B&W and I have not got over it. I could not believe how good they sounded especially at there price point and how well they replayed Theater/music.
So now B&W has had to get at it again and release a new flagship model of the CM line in the CM9's. These things look intriguing. So then I make the huge mistake and go to World Wide Stereo and Video the other day when I was looking for the Marantz av8003 pre.
So uhh who has heard them? Anyone fall in love again? Anyone see the new CM9's ?
So I sit here and think, ok the new cm center would look good there, the Cm9's are finding there home over there, I need to research rears and surround backs.... how about 2 or 3 of there new CM sub's... damn!!!!
O and don't go looking for videos, this takes it to another level, there are a few online...
I don't think I have had "THE BUG" this bad in a long time.

The 9's would be more demanding over the 7's which sounded so good when we heard them. But if you did a complete overhaul of the system the 9's benefits would pay-off but the same could be achieved with the 7's and not having to drive them with anything other then what we had them hooked up with.
Then the other opition would be the 600 series which run real nice with just a Rotel reciever. But for 2ch the 7's would better the 600's and the 9's would better the 7's. So it just boils down to how deep ya able/willing to go. I would have liked the 800 series but they require other parts to make them run properly that when all placed together can be very costly not to mention the proper room needed to get them to perform their best where the lower series performs very well in just a simple room. -

Honestly dude, I still have all the love in the world for my Dynaudio system. But as you know I have not upgraded in a long time. The longest I have ever gone without having some strange..... LOL So I just wanna hear them go, touch them alittle you know. Stick my feet in and get a feel of the water.
If you heard what I heard when I heard the CM7's go, you would be singing there tune. Ask Dave Shepard , he was there with me, They where unbelievable. They basically clowned a pair of B&W N804's. I didn't believe my ears but Dave was there and heard what I heard. We left the room scratching our heads, almost each others LOL

Bro I just wanna touch them a little. I bet Overture has them on display. Maybe I'll play hooky from work tomorrow and drive down there.
The 800 series are fussy. I think thats why they got clowned by the 7's in that theater room. The 7's where better matched for that environment and that Rotel ampDan

WHAT... that wasn't you!??
Those things just smoked the room. I went there (to Dan's) to audition an come home (no SH#T... I was instructed by the wife cash in hand) to come home with a 804-3 series 7.1 system and those Cm7's gave the 803's a case of red **** (seriously I swore I heard them wine alittle).
I can tell you that the 804's were locked in my cross hairs and I had a 3LB load on a 5LB trigger when the 7's were asked to be brought in and well...... Dan and I loaded our pants alittle, then my doubts started cause they sounded soooo nice. I was second guessing my original choice and had to rethink everything and ended up going home empty handed.
The rest of the introduction/audition left me speachless and totaly breathless and speachless, did I already say that?. I will be going back to Dan's area again to repeat the steps and stores we visited. The best audition I have ever invisioned and could have hoped for.

After what I have already heard, I probably could do a mini review. But I need to put them through the paces and compare them to them to other speakers. They did do very well against the N804's. I'm still shocked about that one. The N804's are incredible speakers for music and can do theater but they require a delicate hand.Dan

So ahh what does it mean when you dream about the Cm9's? What does it mean when you spend countless hours researching and finding as many pic's as you can?
How can a speaker like that at that price bring so much love and attention to itself? How can it pull someone who isn't even in the market for new speakers get all excited?
How can a speaker make one want to take the day off from work and drive an hour away just to get a listen????
Can you answer any of these questions???Dan

Dan, you know that discussion about CM9 without a pics is useless.
I think you should get a pair and drive it with your Rotel. I think you'll like it.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -
