Yeah, I've never been on there, so I can't really say. I just heard comments from people on other boards saying that when they put negative comments/reviews about emotiva products they were deleted. Could be that the guys were causing trouble or saying something in an inappropriate way and are just mad at them, but reading that kind of stuff kept me out of there because I wanted an objective opinion. Maybe I'll check it out some time- but I think my mind is already made up on going with an xpa-3 or 5

There was one stupid incident where this one guy went crazy about a letter emotiva sent him and it got taken way out of hand.
Honestly alot of people just say stuff like that because they just want to have something against the company....seriously...lol its kinda funny.
The lounge is not just made up of fanboys. Honestly its just like any other dedicated manufacturer forum. Sure there is lots of love, but would you expect any less? I think its an excellent resource of information as is the dedicated thread on AVS forum.
What i find ridiculous here at the polk forum is the long time members who refuse to even think Emotiva could be as good as their more expensive equipment. OR those members who tried ONE amp and disliked it, so now they basically say that Emotiva sucks... haha thats like if i tried ONE set of polk speakers and thought they were horrible and thus went on different forums saying polk speakers suck..its just laughable
But yeah since you've obviously made up your mind you should check out the lounge, its a great place.Pro-ject RM-9.1 w/ Grado Sonata 1 -> USP-1 -> RPA-1 -> Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grands -
First: there are some long time members here that actually own and like Emotiva.
Second: Emotiva products are frequently recommended and/or suggested as a good option here.
Finally: I have not read one single post on this forum stating that Emotiva "sucks", or makes poor quality products.
So ... are you going to tone it down, and stop writing this kind of stuff at some point? One thing that might be considered as "ridiculous" and "laughable" by some is someone that joins a forum in December, and by January is already writing these kind of negative comments, cluttering up other peoples threads with it, inviting flame wars, and seemingly unable to accept that some people can not agree with his point of view 100% and still have a valid opinion to contribute.
Fortunately, bklynNupe was able to make an informed decision already, with help from some information that he considered carefully before making up his mind, so at the very least, this particular thread has already served its purpose ... in spite of this childish behavior.
1. Yup i know there are long time owners that own Emotiva gear, never said there was not.
2. I know emotiva is recommended never said it was not, but you can also see here that it is also a sore spot with alot of people, especially the long time members.
And honestly i dont see what joining in December has to do with anything. I have been a long time reader here and lately i saw things that needed to be spoken up about, so i joined and made myself be known. You may see it as being not note worthy but others may, in fact i know others agree with me as much as other will agree with you. There is always a balance of things that you may not like, but there is so much insinutating around here i find my comments to be very valid. Im sorry if you dont, or the next ten posters dont find them valid, but i know some do and thats all that matters. I may step on alot of toes, im sorry for that, but sometimes things need to be said, arguments need to be made, and people will feel flamed. It happens every day here with long standing members and new members.
But regardless points taken Kex

I've been using a Parasound HCA 2200ii for years (385 watts per channel into 4ohms). Never had a problem and my LSi9's love it."The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it." Neil deGrasse Tyson.
