Static!!!

Static, crackling, popping noises.
Listening to music on CD I don't have any problems.
Watched a movie "Dark Knight" last night and got loud static so often I had to turn the volume way down on much of the movie. Seemed to be related to lower frequencies, louder portions - (motorcycle would always do it). I thought it was just the LSiC at first but then I put it on two channel and heard it on the LSi 15's as well. The DVD player is inexpensive - (LG RC199H) and can record from VHS tapes.
I think I heard this once before but it went away and I forgot about it.
I haven't noticed this on other DVD's.
Is it just the DVD?
The DVD player?
Something else?

Basic, but---
Did you check the cabling? How is the DVD player connected to the receiver? Loose connection, or bad IC?"Don't forget to change your politician. They are like diapers they need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason."
