I would hope that it wouldn't sound like a car system. Your system should sound cohesive & solid & unless watching a movie, you shouldn't be able to tell what is coming out of which speaker.

Calibrate all of your speakers for matched volume, sit back & enjoy.

Also, make sure your speakers are a good match for each other. What speakers do you have? Are they all the same manufacturer or are they a mix of a bunch? Probably won't make a huge difference, just a thought.

Thanks for the input, much appriciated.

I have all Boston speekers. Two mini's in the back, two bookshelf in the front and the 100 amp subwoofer in the corner.

Are they close together, or are they spread out? Depending on the type of system, the size and ability of the speakers, and setup it may not give you the best sound quality. I am not familiar with Boston's HT speakers, but I know they make decent car audio speakers. Maybe you are expecting to much from them?? Sorry I can't be much help, just trying to make my best guess.

Make sure you dont have some weird 'Audessy' option engaged. I have a Denon 2807 and had the Audessy feautre on and everything sounded flat, once I disengaged it all sounded blissful.

You wont get good seperation if they are too far apart. Do a search on speaker set up or speaker seperation on the official THX or DTS website which has some nice information on speaker spacing. Often people have their speakers too close together. Read up and re-arrange and report back.

Let us know if anything helps, if not we'll keep throwing out random pieces of advice :-) You may want to give us some more information including taking a picture of your set up so we can see if it is placement issue.
