Who knows what problems this guy has Mike. You aren't going to fix them. You just want your amp or money back quickly.
My guess is that he has spent your money so that's not an option.
He may not even have the money to ship your amp.
Maybe you can ask him to ship it COD. No forget that.
Ask him to bring the amp to a place that ships and packs equipment and let that place contact you for payment. You don't want him packing this amp. This is the best way out I think for you.
Sorry and I understand your position but calling him names will not help you get the amp.
a very good suggestion here.... but hey you would call him names affter weeks wondering where the hell is my 300 hard earned dollars? then you noticed him log on without any communication when was said not have access to net or on the phone. even jeff wasnt nice to the person who paid u would be calling him whatever ur thinkingI am 100% BORN DEAF and No I am not kidding! Why am I here? My wife's hearing!

I Understand the frustration here.
I don't know what I would do if I were in Mike's situation.
But since it's not my money I'm trying to be objective.
The goal is to get the amp or money from this guy.
I hope it works out for Mike. -
Since I guess the majority of you here have decided that 2 weeks is too long to wait.......the multiple deals from long term forum members ( 6-7yrs) that I have waited for over a month to receive gear after payment deserve the same kicking?
According to your tactics, should I have gone public (outed/ratted) on them too, and disrepect their tenure?
I think people's friendship and respect are more important than a stupid couple hundred dollars on an electronic deal. Maybe thats just me, but I still care for them and their standing in our community here, and I sure wouldn't want to have to possibly run into them at the next event after being so hasty about my money/transaction during a problem time for them personally, but then I guess I value the forum interaction more than the money......oh yeah the other thing is that I wouldn't trust a 6 month member with no feedback with $300 of my cash, but I guess that aveune of thought is lost here in this instance....the prospect of the good deal overshadowed any common sense.

i understand your point...however and jeff agrees now: whn communication is spotty at best and promises unfulfilled, trust goes out the window.
it was an impulse buy on my part...who hasn't done that
i've wanted a 555 for a long time and i wanted to buy it here for the TRUST factor!
i fel that jeff and i have come to an understanding at this point and that it will work out.
i repeat from earlier: i hope everybody involved in this has learned something!
i really hope to be a 555 owner and count jeff among my friends
your flame suit didn't even get warm!:D -
A man's word is his honor. That's the principle I live by. I hope you have your gear soon Mike.
I agree, but unless you've actually faced divorce/bankruptcy/accident/illness or any type of derailing life issue that consumes your life at that time, just when you need $$$ the most, you may be in the least effective time of your life when it comes to simple deadlines.
I think returning the $$$ would have cured the whole issue with an apology for the lack of promptness during the trying time and proactive communication instead of ignoring the pleas.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

I still think that the issue is that you didn't have a trust factor. 10 days from the time he received the money seems pretty early to out someone in this type of "family forum", that we claim to have. well said......
is this a place to air dirty laundry? probably not until a few weeks have passed..i too have had dealings with long time sellers that have taken 3-4 weeks with limited communication but after all said and done ..always positive results...
and all without any bad mouthing before hand..............
theres email and phones for communication between involved parties.....
but then again the internet always brings out the netbully in us all -

sorry dennis but you're wrong! the guy fell off the face of the planet. he only called me because i had to get his number from another member. every promise of shipping fell through. did you read the entire thread? each time he didn't ship when promised, there was never a phone call or email apologizing. nothing. i guess 1 guy out of i don't know how many can find a way to defend that sort of bs.
anyway after talking with him, i understand his plight. i didn't before. i don't like it. it is what is though. now he seems to understand my side.
i'm bettng this will all work out for the good -
how long has it been since he recieved the MO?
was it cashed? -

When someone buys a product they shouldn't have to wait two weeks before the shipper sends it then wait another 3 days to receive it, totally unacceptable unless he states that in the post. Which he didn't. -

was it cashed?
i'm going to give jeff time to work it out. i'm putting away my mud-slinger!
jeff and i talked. the details will be between us.
i feel that he'll do the right thing:cool:
soooo. how's the weather in your-neck-'o-the-woods????:p -
How am I wrong?
I read the thread the first day you posted and wondered how impatient you must be to send money on 12-26 (as per your own post in the FS thread) that he most likely wouldn't receive until the 29th or 30th, and then publicly post your concern on 1-6, less than 10 days after he possibly could have acted on the sale not to mention holiday delays etc.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

I'm sure that both parties have endured more than their share of stress. I hope it all works out for both of you.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

I'm not sympathitic toward him, I have faced all those issues I listed, and tried to deal with life as it goes on. I just think 10 days is pretty quick to effectively kill someones life on the forum. If my timeline based on OP's own posts are wrong let me know. dennis why are you putting in your 2 cents now? i could have used your sage advice way back when:rolleyes:
jeff will do the right thing....by mid-week i'll be posting positive results.
silence is deadly for sure. when i didn't hear from jeff as promised, well you see what happened. after talking and getting our tempers out of the way, i see he's more than the guy who owes me an amp! he's just like anyone else in these crazy times. sometimes all we got is our systems (music that is).
anyway you can say what you want about me....let's everybody else hold off on posting to this thread till i do
thanks! -
I'm not going to respond to all ofMike's acusations because I don't need to nor care. My whole world fell apart this last month or so. Actually 'bout two weeks before Christmas... but anyway, to get you guys up to speed, a customer bounced a $2800 check, I got kicked out of my house, my Paypal account was cleaned out along with my bank account. Along with argueing with the soon to be EX every possible moment. That is what I have been doing, If I turned into an intravert (I think that's how you spell it?) Hey I'm Sorry..! I did not and would not cash the money order for the amp w/o sending it.
WOW..! this Jeff guy is an ****!:D
For all those who passed judgement on me without hearing both sides of the story.... F#*K OFF...!!!!!!
for those who REALLY know me, THANKS..! and God Bless! Thanks, Jeff... -

Hey Jeff,
Do you still have the RTA-12 crossovers and tweeters for sale?

The Iron Rule of Thumb would say, "There ain't no excuse !".
While that may be true, sometimes the REASON for things happening the way they do nudges things that way.
For those who've never had the privilege of going through a divorce process, I'd sincerely say, "Congratulations".
Again, no excuse, but sometimes a little extra patience is its own reward.
Now, that doesn't mean that JB doesn't deserve a good kick in the family jewels but if things are proceeding on the personal front as they appear to be, he won't be needing them for a bit.
I mean, it's not like he's one of those Carver guys !!!
Good luck to all parties involved.Sal Palooza -
Jeff! A few of us were trying very hard to give you the benefit of the doubt, but it all seemed so stretched thin (you did log on at least once, after all, and it seems like some minor communication would have helped a lot over this period). I hope things improve for you soon (Ben really did put in a good word IMO, and that counts for more than a lot). Sort some of it out, and come back to talk to us!
Good luck, and thanks for posting! Life really can be a **** sometimes.Alea jacta est! -

Not busting balls, but I have learned that how I do one thing is also how I do many other things.
The lack of communication between the the seller of the amp to Mike is clear. All that is required is for the seller to tell his story. Silence is the killer here I think. He didn't write back and things got worse.
I wonder if incidents like this, lack of communication, also happen in other parts of his life?
I think a simple call would have fixed this from the begining.
By the way, ship the amp.
