I have had my H1 remote for a couple of months now and it has ruined me.

Now, whenever I pick up a different remote I find I shake it to wake it up but nothing happens.

Reminds of the Star Trek movier where they talk to the Mac mouse, computer ? computer !?

The Harmony 1000 has created a relax environment for HT for both my wife and son. No more phone calls to Dad when he is out of town.

Very happy with my Harmony 720 (have bought four already, but three of them were for gifts), but I would usually advise putting the old remotes away entirely, because using them can confuse the Smart State technology (which basically remembers what is currently on or off, and what inputs are currently selected etc.), requiring frequent use of the "HELP" button to fix it!

If there is a button or two on the old remote that you feel you need, then it's time to plug in the USB cord and tweak the activity and/or device settings!

I've been eyeing the 1000, I have the 659 and think it's great but that 1K is something else.

Why not? Harmony can control pretty much anything (well, whatever is in its online database).

I have 520, 659 and 720. So far, 520 is the winner, but 720 is the close 2nd. Why? 720 drives me nuts when its big color screen lights up every time I touch it and it does not have the 'illuminate' button, like 520 does.
I hope this feature can be turned off, but I haven't looked into it yet.

My Harmony has controlled everything I have ever tried with not a single issue.

I am saving up for the ONE. Super cool.

Harmony makes a nice remote. On my main system I have the majority of my components in the basement with no problems.

I bought a ONE, and didn't love the touchscreen. Found myself accidentally touching it sometimes.

I had a 1000 which was cool, but FAR too bright for my dedicated theater room. That, and I didn't love the two handed operation either.

I am currently getting to know my 890, which I really like so far!

You can change the brightness on the background, but I'm sure you know that.

The Harmony One kicks ****. I had the 1000 for a while. It was really nice, but the One is superior.

Having used a far number of Universals, buying the One was the best remote choice I have made in a long time. It's so easy that even my wife can use it, the ergonomics are very natural with the buttons placed in sensical locations, and I've never had a problem with it. As stated above though, I do find myself shaking the remotes at my friends houses...

+1 for the harmony one. Best universal remote I've ever owned. The very day I stumbled upon it (slacking off researching the 1000 at work) my boss ditched his 1000 and we both picked one up! I think it's the perfect mix of the upper and lower models- color touch screen but still a familiar shape/layout that's simple to operate with one hand. Also one of the few electronics purchases that the wife actually wanted- let alone didn't yell at me for... that's always nice.

I just scored the One off of Ebay and must say it is very nice. I'm replacing my 880 with it, what impressed me was I just went into the Logitech software, told it I replaced my 880, plugged in the One, it updated the remote, sent all my configurations to the One as they were in the 880. Only changes I had to make were to the device pages and layout but that took 10-15 minutes. Love the look and the ergonomics itself over the 880. Both are very nice remotes, however the One is simply hands down everything one could want. If anyone is interested I got mine on Ebay new for 150.
