The 7.1 soundtrack is so intense in this movie, great mindless flick in my opinion.

I loved Crank, but Crank 2 just went too far into jokey territory. Looked and sounded great on Blu-ray though!

Yeah, I get that, Keiko... but the first one, while obviously not realistic, didn't come off as a parody the way Crank 2 does. This one goes over the top just for the sake of going over the top, and while I didn't feel like I wasted my time watching it, it just wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be nor was it nearly as good as the original. It's like they went out of their way to make it campy.

But still, the BD had some killer 7.1!

I heard that Maynard from Tool has a cameo in this one. It would be cool to see on screen again. I met him in person 6 months ago and he was pretty cool.

Netflix is giving people who rented the BD of this a bonus rental because of all the problems with it not loading on certain players. Worked on my Oppo... but I'm gonna use the bonus to snag Kill Bill 1 and 2 at the same time. :)

I liked the first one and by the previews I saw , I'm gonna like the 2nd one. It's one of those just kick back and watch the extreme action take place. I have no expectations for such a movie, just raw fun.

    Outrageous.

    Unbelievable.

    Over the Top.

    Funny as F'in hell!

I laughed out loud - and I don't do that very often in a flick.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

Got the Blu Ray today from Blockbuster; it didn't load on my Oppo; tried several times, could see all the previews, but never got to the top menu. And I was so happy I was going to watch the first real 7.1 movie.:mad:

If you haven't flashed the latest firmware, then do it. There's always a chance it will fix the problem and it only takes about 10 minutes to download and install.

I've got the last "official" firmware. The other one available is the beta version, and I'm not comfortable using that one.... has anyone installed this one?

I think the last one I put in was the 8/26 beta. No problems and I can't remember why I did it...there was some feature I wanted I think. I had put in the 6/20 beta before that one.

I installed the latest Beta (September 9); I can get to the top menu now. Will watch it tonight!!!

    Thanks for the tip.

I'm running the latest beta firmware and Crank 2 loaded fine for me. Took a bit longer than other discs though. I have not experienced any issues whatsoever with the 09/09 beta firmware, and I've been watching the hell out of discs since I installed it.
