I'd like to thank Tom, Ben, Lightman, and anyone else that helped and participated in the transport of my newly aquired SDA's. I could not have asked/dreamed of a more "perfect" deal. Guy's you really do not know how much this means to me, your kindness and hospitality is second to none.If I can ever be of service/do anything for any of you, just say the word.
    Thanks to all---george

    REGARDS SNOW
Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Well I made through another night at Ben's. George D brought over some goodies and we made the 1c's sing like a bird. Good times and good friends all with the same audio bug we suffer from. Ben's still a dork. Instead of channel locks I used vise-grips on Toms nuts( he's still trying to remove them:D) I ate one of the chickens and we played kick the can in the rain. All in all another succesful get together.

    I can't find my keys.

George is not welcome in my home any more. I have been schooled. One or 3 Adcoms will go up for sale. Tubes shall be rolling in. What a pleasure to meet George, and his brother. 100 beers later, and we missed the mailbox:) Hooters on the big screen were a blast. The chickens are safe. The neighbor was decent. First time I ever talked to her, and it was cool. Something about was that gun fire, or fireworks:confused: All I have to say is wow. Thanks Luis for stopping in. Great times. See yall in may. Dave you are coming next time if force is necessary.

Here are a few pic's that I took while we were there,, actually we were engaged in some very interesting and thought provoking conversations,, regarding phono pre's,bypass caps, rdo's, sl2000's, and some items/devices that Ben had developed/engineered,, to which I'll let him speak of if he wants to.Some pretty impressive components to say the least, with outstanding build quality. We listend to my 1C's,, 2B's, Bens monsters,, Lightman had some very good recordings to which he turned us/me on to,, Ben's vinyl rig with his DIY phono pre was very impressive. The 1C's did sound pretty good with tubes, and I am grateful to Tom and Russ for hauling them and taking exceptional care of them as well.I left to "Third Stone from the Sun" playing on vinyl,, which I thought was appropriate. I hope that everyone made it home ok,and I'm looking forward to the next GTG.

I'm home safe and sound. Nice to meet George and his brother, Luis stopped by from Birmingham Al. Yep the Anthem tuber was the big hit of the evening. Met Eric in Gastonia to drop off his 2B's. Sounds like we've hooked another victim in this god-awful hobby we do. A tip O' the hat to Tom for being the speaker hauling freak he was this weekend. And last but not least, Thanks to Ben for always having an open door policy for the rest us goobers.

    F*ck Y'all and good night...

Glad you finally see the light. Put all three up for sale. I've been hinting around the Adcom issue for a while.

Real audiophiles use tubes. Everyone else is a sucker for solid state.

I heard the large ones. They were powered by 3 adcom 565's IIRC,, I listened to vinyl on them and they sounded very good, the bass was tight but not boomy, the kind of bass that gets you in the gut,:), the highs were not too bright, and were very pleasant, not glarry, they do a good job of filling the room with sound, a good soundstage,,what really surprised me was the vocals,, they were exceptional, and the "air" about the instruments. Keep in mind the first time you see these things,, they look intimidating due to their size,, I suspect that you could listen to these along time without getting any fatique.I did not have a chance to listen to the smaller pair, but I plan too.

Well today I was spinning Gordon Lightfoot's master recording. Wow George what a great record. How did you get those records so clean? I took the AQ's off the highs of the home brews, and hooked up the silver speaker wires. I should have done that long ago. In May it will be better prepared. Too much experimental, and not enough time. This was more of a gear exchange. Next time lets do some good food instead of cheap beer for at least a good part of the day. Again thanks for bringing the tubes. I need to get my tube buffer going before I give up on SS. I know some fellas that have some sweet hybrids here;)

Guess I need to get her some nice gift to smooth it all over:)
...or better yet tell her to go shopping so she will buy a bunch of clothes and feel guilty.;)
