please help me picking a set of speaker
hi all,
i'm new the this forum. i'm currently have a rotel rsx-1056 running a pair of dynaudio dm 2/10 (no sub) in my room of about 10' x 12' x 8'. i'm not quite happy with the sound. i'm getting the boomy of the lower-end, nothing like tight and deep bass. the people at dynaudio told me the dm 2/10 can go flat at 31hz. i'm considering selling the dynaudio dm 2/10 and get a pair of polk lsi9 to run with my rotel receiver. please advice. thank you all.

Welcome to the forum.
I own LSi9s and like them but wouldn't describe them as supplying tight, deep bass; they really need a sub. Furthermore they are 4 ohm speakers and your receiver isn't rated into 4 ohms, so far as I can tell.
My first thought would be to keep the Dynaudios and buy a separate amp?
Second thought: break down and buy a sub?
Third thought: RTiA7s. You could run them with 100 wpc from the rotel and they are said to supply a decent amount of bass (haven't heard them myself).
Very likely someone more knowledgeable will chime in in a moment.
Would be nice to know what sort of music you like to listen too.
Good luck, -
I agree with Hilbert you can buy a separate amp. I just bought emotiva XPA-5 and boy POWERRRR FOR DAYS. I love that amp so much, check them out http://emotiva.com/shop/cart.php?m=product_list&c=3Samsung-55 LED
Denon 3808ci
RTi A5 (Fronts)
CSi A6 (Center)
FXi 5 (Rears)
Velodyne DPS-12 (Sub)

Hello,
I am also a Dynaudio owner and I'm assuming you don't have them setup correctly. They do dig down low but I think you should also have a sub 250 to go along with them. according to Dynaudio, you can get away without one but I'm not a fan.
All Dynaudio speakers make bass and do it well. They are incredible sounding speakers but as any speaker , they require break in and proper setup.
If you want to get the most out of your system, take some pic's of your room, post some measurements and I'll help you get them in shape. I can also help you calibrate them properly which I believe is one thing thats causing your problems.

hi all,
i have been a little busy lately but i just bought a rotel rb-1080, which has 4-ohm stable to go with my dynaudio dm2/10. anyway, the dynaudios are firing at the 12-feet dimension. and yes, my dynaudios are not fully broken-in yet. i also have a 15" image dynamics idq sub from my old sq car that i'm thinking of getting an o-audio bash 500w plate amp to run with my current system. thanks for all your help.
