Hi everybody,
Its funny how time gets away with with you.I bought my first pair of RT25i Polks off the show room floor back around 2000 they were Demo's.They were the best sounding speakers for the size and price that I could find.My first real speakers.I decided to build myself a nice surround sound system that I could move around with me.Big speakers sound cool but not good if you have to move alot or live in dog boxes.

I started with my Polk's a nice Rotel amp and all in one Rotel reciever.Over a few years I managed to get another set of new RT25i's for the rear set and a CS245i centre to match. At the time I couldnt afford a Sub.Back then the outlay was expensive.I also manged to pick up a few more new Rotel componets and have now a very nice all round 5.1 surround HT system.I am very happy with my purchase choices.

Over the last few years I have been very busy working moving around and have finally settled into a new place.Well Ive been here 5 years.I have had the sound system boxed up since I moved to our farm,I have been to scared to set it up due to the dirt and dust that gets dragged in here. And a woman that destroys what ever eletrical goods she touches.

This Xmas the other half wanted a big Plasma telly and a home theather setup.(Wont it be nice sharing a movie on a big screen)she say's.Like I have all the time in the world.I have been avoiding the issue for years, its not just the dust its also the animals we live with 3 tom cats.

Thier not that bad they have been nutted and dont piss up the walls. But their hair gets into everything when they molt. Not good for expensive sound systems. At least they keep the plauge of rats and other vermin down around the place. And Im not joking about plauge. If it wsnt for the cats we would have a major rabbit problem here.

I refuse to own dogs, they cant catch rats and we run cattle and dogs Im afraid just dont make life easy.As you can guess we dont have kids yet.Anyways I got pushed into getting a big telly.Well not a big telly a home theather projector, one that flashes up a 200 inch movie onto a the wall size screen.See what happens when you get a big house and dont have kids.

The prices have come down so much on projectors and the quality is mind blowing. So now I have to setup the home theather (HT) drag out and unpack all my expensive sound gear so we can all enjoy the music. Not my idea, give me my own cave and I will setup my own HT thankyou very much. But it dont work like that does it.

So the next few months I have to wire the whole place up.The farm has nothing as in the way of cable. So I have to rewire the low voltage throughout the whole place to get cable in every room phone points, network the usal runs. But Now I have to wire up the new HT room to hide all those monster cables to all the speakers and wire up the HMDI projector and HT reciever.Im not looking forward to it I can tell you.

What I do need is some advice on is a Sub woofer to match my setup.A PW350 would be nice but Polk dont make them anymore do they. And advice on wall mounting my RT25i's.The room will be basically empty expect for the seating sound gear and speakers. The room has hard wood floors and a high 9ft ceiling. The room is 25ft x 16ft I know an acoustic nightmare, thats the next advice.Any recommendation to softing the place up with out making the place look like grannmas house would be helpful.

Oh, and I love my cherry Polks I will never sell them, I worked to hard to pay them off.As most of you people sure know. You make Good speakers Mr Polk.

    Cool story,

Any of the new polk subs will match your system. Actually the newer models sound better and tighter/quicker then the older models. So check out the entire new line and pick the one you like. You will be happy.

    Hi Dan,
Thanks for the reply.Well my system drives max at 100w not sure what the sub output is.Cant remember.I dont know nothing about sub woofers. I like the look of the PSW110, how do you work out what size sub you need for system setup. Is their a chart somewheres.

    Thanks

    Hi Dan,
Believe it or not I stumbled on a subwoofer section with a chart that helps you work out what Sub Woofer you need depending on the size of your room.Looks Like I need a 10" inch PSW10 not a PSW110.Nice cherry red to suit the RT25i's that handy.
