Good idea. That's an even better choice than the 10.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Why don't you try disconnecting everything except the centre speaker and sub, and use one of your RTi10's as the centre speaker. Surely that would give you a really good basis for gauging the sound and ascertain if it's to your liking. IMO go the CSi5 centre as that is what it's designed for. Few people could complain the CSi5 was too bright, or lacking in the midrange, or too much bass! Good luck.

Not going to happen... the extra 6.5" of height would result in me having to reduce my screen size! That's one compromise I'm not willing to make.;) -

Sounds like a good idea. I'll try an A-B tonight between CSiA4 and RTi10.Peter Fleming wrote: »IMO go the CSi5 centre as that is what it's designed for. Few people could complain the CSi5 was too bright, or lacking in the midrange, or too much bass! Good luck.
Horizontal center design appears to have been the triumph of form over function. Many people prefer a LCR array of matching speakers with vertically aligned drivers. I've read it many times, and of course, I believe it...:o

I already did. See post #27.Alea jacta est!

Set to large.
With a good sub, speakers should always be set to small (for HT at least).
I'm using LSi7 as centre for my HT, with LSi15's as mains and 7's as surrounds. Couldn't be happier with how it sounds.
